Personally, I prefer the terry cloth robes that aren't soft and "fleece" like, because the soft ones don't absorb water as well. This one is plenty soft (like a thick towel) and it soaks excess water right up just like terry cloth is supposed to do. My old robe was torn and tattered after 15 years of use so it needed replacing, and this one is even better!So if you want a super-soft, fleece-like, non-water-absorbing bathrobe, this is not the one for you. But if you want a relatively soft terry robe that works like a towel, this one is great. I'm 5'3" (size 34) female and it's HUGE for me but I still love it!

I have been requesting one of these for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, etc. for about 10 years; nobody took the hint. So this Christmas I decided if I did not get one would buy myself one. And I found a super great deal on this one on Amazon for 40% off.It meets my expectations +++! Perfect fit, I bought the small/medium, ivory color. I am 5'1" about 115 lbs. Before washing it came almost to my ankles, after washing about 2-3 inches shorter. Did not seem to shrink any around the body that I could tell, just a little in the length. Did not shed as much as I expected, no more than a new towel on the first washing and about the same as a towel after that. And it did not take as long as I thought it would to dry.When requesting this robe for a gift I was asked "But wouldn't you rather have one of those nice, soft, fleecy ones?" Those feel good if you are dry already, but do not lift a drop of water off your body. With this robe you dry off a little with a wash cloth and put the robe on right out of the shower and you are instantly dry! It is not fleecy feeling but I personally like the way the terry feels better. I do not like being even a little cold and this robe keeps you toasty warm. The terry on this is very thick and tightly woven; a few loose threads came out the 1st wash but not after that. I would, and have, recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy getting out of the shower as much as being in the shower!

This type of towel is very common in Europe. It's not a robe that you would wear around the house. It's a towel that you can wear, so it's really absorbent and it gives you a cozy feeling walking out of the shower. They're really good in the winter when getting out of the shower might feel a little uncomfortable and cold. I have looked for these for many years in the U.S. But, they have never been of the same towel material as I had them in Europe. This one finally is right. It is long which I love because I can dry my feet and legs before getting out of the tub without having to pull and tug on it. It is not too wide. It wraps around just enough to cover your body but it could be a little wider. If you are looking for a plush, soft, light robe to walk around in, this is not it.

I'm giving this a 3 star because it is ok. Nothing fancy & definitely not hotel quality. I have an old Turkish towel robe that I purchased at Sears 10 years ago. That robe was heavy & the outside was very smooth and fine. No thick fabric loops. This robe is like a cheap Walmart towel as it is stringy on the outside. It is not really heavy which is ok by me. I like the patch pockets & the collar. The length is to my ankles as I am 5' 2". I got small/medium & I weigh 125. So fit wise it's good. I thought for the price it would be nicer but I'm keeping because I need one & it is absorbent so it serves it's purpose for covering straight out of the shower. Just dot expect an elegant hotel quality robe cause this isn't it. I got the tan color.

"Somewhat large" (L/XL) is a GOOD thing for me! I'm 6' tall and was hoping it would at least be below the knee (based on pic of model wearing the robe). In fact it's WAY longer...woohoo! One for me! Hits me mid-shin which is a blessing, as I'm buying for use after shoulder surgery. Won't be able to towel off, so going to wrap myself up after shower instead. Fabric looks to be very good quality. Thick but not over heavy. And I love the color. So excited to have a robe that really fits me!!! If you're a tall girl, you're gonna love this!

I wear a misses size 12 and ordered a medium/large, which fits just fine if it doesn't shrink anymore--it shrank noticeably after the first wash even though I washed cold, dried on low till half-dry. Since it's unisex sizing, the sleeves are a bit long but can be turned up. The blue color is nice. The robe is heavier than I expected since some reviewers complained about how "thin" it is. Not! It is nice and thick although I was hoping for something lighter weight and not take up too much room in a suitcase. Still, I'm happy with it but will have to wait till winter to enjoy it.

Great robe! Ordered to wear when getting out of pool after aqua exercising for arthritis. Robe is actually thicker than I expected or needed so I was pleasantly surprised. For years I have slipped into a terry robe ordered from a well known manufacturer somewhere in northern (really northern!) Maine, but didn't want to spend so much for a pool robe. I will no longer be ordering the more expensive robe. This one compares nicely. It is quite thick and lush, very well made and has many more colors to choose from.

The quality is good and material fit is as expected except that it is unusually TOO LONG. I chose the size medium-large for my wife since I feared small would have been too small. Yet the gown's length appears to have been produced for a very TALL man! It is almost to the ground on my wife. Despite this issue, We kept it because we like the material and it is well made.
