Roarin' '20s

This is probably the most authentic silhouette of a 1920's dress you can find. It's a good dress if you are aiming for mid-to-late (1926-1929). Remember, the 1920s was really about a boyish cut - the goal was to look like a potato sack - no curves. Hems were "short" but only short compared to the early 1900s so this falls a little below my knee - which is perfect. This is a drop waist, straight cut dress - as expected. It has a nice detailing that runs from shoulder to waist, too. The you can get some kick and fluff from the ruffle style at the bottom of the dress. The dress is lined and light and very comfortable.I am 5'7 about 145-150lbs and I ended up getting a small. I tried on the medium and it was a little too lose. It is a little tight on my chest, but, I wore this dress all night and it didn't bother me. I would normally say I am a medium-large, so, I think this dress might run a little large.I styled this dress with:- Chase & Chloe New Kimmy-36 Women's Teardrop Cut Out T-Strap Mid Heel Dress Pumps- Fashion 21 Women's Ten Multi-Strand Simulated Pearl Statement Necklace and Earrings Set in Cream Color (I threw some strands over my head so they were down my back, too)- Fascigirl Rhinestone Headbands, 5PCS Jeweled Decorative Forehead Diamond Headband Crystal Headband Beaded Headbands for Women Birthday Gift with Stone- EVER FAITH Austrian Crystal 1920s Style Square Art Deco Bridal Bangle Bracelet Clear- Yuren 925 Sterling Silver Vintage Emerald Ring Blue Sapphire White Topaz Ring Women Wedding Fashion Jewelry
The best dress I found for my needs!

This dress fits like an 'authentic" 1920's dress--below the knee, drop-waist, looser. I was looking for something to wear in a Gershwin musical revue. Being more, um, 'mature', I didn't really want a too-short, too-tight, fringe covered number, although there are some beautiful ones here! From my own research, this dress seems more true to what was really worn in the 20's, and with some nice accessories it looks just right! I think this dress is pretty well-made, also. The ruffles on the sides definitely 'dance' when I move onstage.
Perfect Dress

I needed a cute dress for a 1920s look and this really fit the bill. It fit perfectly and was super flattering! Best of all I didn't look like everyone else in their sequined flapper dresses!
Cute casual 1920s style dress

Great material and style for a casual 1920s dress. Most authentic style waist line for the time period. I'm returning only to size down...using the chart it was just slightly too big. I ordered an XL but really could have used a large instead.
A lovely shape and color--and the fit is perfect!

I followed the size chart and ordered size small in this dress. (My bust is 34" and my waist is 27.5".) It fits as if it had been designed for me! The shaping of the bodice is flattering, and the dress flows nicely over my abdomen and hips, without clinging. The color is a pretty, rich red, and the length is a couple of inches below my knees. (I'm 5'4" tall.) I purchased the dress to wear as a costume, but it's so well made that I will be able to wear it on formal occasions. The only slightly odd feature is the side zipper on the bodice, which is on the right. (The zipper is on the left with my other dresses that feature side zippers.)
barely drop-waisted

It's a pretty dress, but the waist barely qualifies as a drop waist. I know my waist is a little long, but still. If this is for your 20s costume, it's not going to work unless you're quite short. It just looks like a pretty, conservative dress. (It's also a smidge tight. If you're on the upper edge of a size, size up.
A fitted flapper?
Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2019
A very pretty, non-stereotypical flapper dress with soft fabric and a rich vibrant color; looks more expensive than it is. My only quibble is the fit. As I wanted it to be on the loose side, for a period-correct silhouette, I ordered a size up (L). That fell nicely on the torso and hips, but was way too baggy in the shoulders and armholes. So I swapped it for a medium, which fit fine up top, but was a little too body-hugging for that true twenties look. Love that swingy layered skirt, though.
ok cut/fabric, not for large bust

Fabric was nice coloring, and garment had hemmed edges with liner. Size up for large bust. Had to return.
