Beautiful, but small on top

I saw this dress in store and didn't buy it but thought about it for days afterward. VERY flattering with a retro cocktail hour vibe. I ordered 2 sizes-- the 6 and the 8. My issue is that I have broad shoulders and a 38D chest. My waist, however, is 27 inches and hips are 36 inches. So the 6 fits the bottom half of me and the 8 fits the top. The entire dress fits, of course, just very very tight in the arms and shoulder area so I don't want to rip it. I might wind up going with the 8 and seeing if I can tailor the waist/hips. I would certainly recommend the dress though-- it's beautiful on and very chic. I just happen to have a weird sizing issue. :/

Don't iron it. There wasn't anything that said you couldn't iron it, and when I touched it with a warm iron, a HUGE hole melted out of the front as if this dress was made from plastic. Never even got to wear it.

I got so many compliments on this look! The dress fit perfect. Snug but it's supposed to be fitted. I'm rather large busted. I wore no bra and everything stayed in place. The only flaw, I would say, is there is no "catch" on the top of the dress so the zipper would slip some. I had to keep an eye on it so to speak. I plan on adding the catch for later. Just didn't have time before my event. Maybe someone with a little smaller bust wouldn't have the same problem. Spanx are good with it too. :)

Great fit, high quality! I fluctuate between 160 and 170 lbs at 5'8". My bust is 34DDD or 36DD. Waist is around 29 inches. Size 10 works perfectly. For me, it would work give or take ten pounds, because it has some give to the fabric. I was worried about the arms being snug, because my arms and legs are pretty sturdy, but it fits perfectly. I'm wearing it to get married in, but it could work for many different occasions as it isn't too dressy or too casual.
Static prone and not for a pear shape; not true to size.

I found this dress to fit somewhat weird compared to other Maggy London dresses. I ordered my normal size (10), which was too tight in the skirt area, as well as a size larger (12), which fit the bottom but was drowning me up top. I don't have a small chest (32DDD) so this was surprising to me. The fabric doesn't have a lot of give and the under layer (slip?) is prone to static, which I found annoying and uncomfortable. I also found it to come up too high in the throat area so I felt like I was being choked. It's a beautiful dress, but clearly not for a pear shape. This is a classic beauty! Fit was true to size . I loved the dress . I ordered a 16 (fearful of it being to small when it arrived ) I am a Size 12-14. It would not be easy to alter this dress . So order it in your appropriate size . Perfect for Mother of Bride / Groom ..not frumpy . I ordered Blush . You will have to go strapless with this dress . Wear a smoother undergarments . This dress in Black would be beautiful for a party . Itâs flattering to all figures . I have returned the dress because I should have purchased it in my size and Iâll need to be active on the wedding day . Which makes going strapless a challenge . Great dress for a cocktail party .

Really lovely design, simple but elegant and timeless looking, will be a closet staple. Based on the existing reviews I first bought a size 6 but that turned out to be much too large, as did size 4...I eventually ended up with the size 2 (!) which fit perfectly. I don't have other maggy londond dresses to know if this would be my usual size in this brand. For reference, i am 5'2" and about 125lb and have measurements 33, 27, 37. Overall I would say this dress fits bigger than expected because i'm size 4-6 usually in other dress brands.
Too big in the bottom in you have narrow hips.

I ordered a size 12 because that is the size that fits my upper body and the dress was the right fit on top but too big in the waist and hips and also too long. My bust measurement is 39â but Iâm smaller in the bottom 33â waist 37â hips. The bottom was huge and too long. Iâm 5â5 140lbs. If you plan on ordering this dress, keep in mind that you may have to have it tailored. The dress is pretty but I feel between the price of this dress plus the cost tailoring, in the end it doesnât look the price tag. Thus, I decided to return it. I hope this helps.

This might be the perfect little black dress. It fits perfectly, and the lining makes sure it hangs just so. The sheer illusion neck is elegant yet sexy.I am 5'2" and the length hit me about an inch and a half below the knee. Considered shortening it, but I kinda love it the way it is.

It's an elegant dress and fits well. The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating is that I have now seen this dress on two other people in the same colour (black) and I worry that I will be wearing it at the same time. Obviously a popular dress.
