LOVE this dress!

I ordered an XL. I was nervous about the sizing, the bust size was several inches bigger than my size, but I needed the bigger size waist. It turned out to be perfect. There is a bit of room before the buttons would be struggling, but it doesn't look to big on me. The fabric is also stretchy. I second what others have said about it being a little like swimming suit fabric, but I like that. It gives it some weight and keeps it from feeling cheap. There's a side zipper, but I didn't need to unzip it to get in since the buttons are all functioning. I wore it with a belt and 2 petticoats. I definitely think it looks better with a belt, but the petticoat can be optional. I'm 5ft8in and was worried about the length, but it was below the knee :) The last picture is a close up of some funny sewing, but that's literally the only thing I found wrong with it and it's barely noticeable. If you're on the fence, buy it!

This dress is just adorable. It was hard for me to imagine this fabric before it actually arrived: it is beautiful! Yes, there is a little stretch to it, but still it retains a vintage feeling. The neckline is perfectânot too low cut. I wore this dress to church yesterday with no petticoat and got tons of compliments, but it could easily be dressed up fancy with a petticoat for an âI love Lucyâ look.

I love this address the only issue I have with it is the bottom of the bodice has a weird gap and could use another button. The fabric is definitely a stretchy bathing suit feel. I wish the pattern was printed on differently because I do feel that over time it may flake. I bought this dress for a halloween costume for I Love Lucy, and I think it will be perfect. I am definitely going to buy more gowntown dresses in vintage styles!

Truly, I love the GownTown brand, but to wear this design I either have to go up in size which makes other parts too big or I have to loose weight in my bust. The buttons pull open. So, I haven't got to wear the dress yet.

Very nice dress. Nice fabric and a nice cut. A bit longer than I had hoped but I'm short so most things are a bit long. Still looks great. I would recommend a belt as a finishing touch but it is still nice without.

I ordered a size up just to be careful because I've been burnt so many times ordering my size on button up items being too small for my bust.However it is true to size so definitely order your regular size! Its beautiful and looks extra lovely with a petticoat.One thing to note this is NOT MACHINE WASHABLE. Don't even try it. I put it through a wash cycle accidentally and boy did I mess it up. I good bit of working with it (ironing/steaming/sewing) and it's still wearable but not nearly as nice as before.

I ordered this dress for my daughter who is in a play set in the early 1960's. I was worried at first about ordering online but it fit perfectly and looks very well made. I ordered the size based upon the waist measurements. The only thing that isn't perfect is there is a slight gap between the bottom button and waist. I'll have to put in a few stitches so that it doesn't gap.
Beautiful dress! Get one size up at least.

Love this dress but it is much tighter at the bust than the other Gowntown dresses that I have gotten. Normally thatâs workable- but the way the buttons are, it is hard to work with. Iâd say order a size up than your usual size for this dress. Goes great with a fat red belt and red pumps and any other red paraphernalia!
