True flapper fit

This dress isnât what I had hoped. I specifically wanted a more realistic flapper dressâ not the fake flapper dresses made famous by Marilyn Monroe in the 60s: body-forming and covered in fringe. This does fit more realisticallyâ like a gunny sack. While I didnât want it form fitting, I didnât expect to be so hidden in it.For reference, I am 5â3â, 115-120 lbs, pear-shaped (33â, 27â, 38â), and I ordered a Small. I typically wear a 0 or 2 in dresses. The hip area just brushes my hips without being too loose or too tight, so that actually works well for someone with 37-39â hips. The top and waist would benefit someone slightly bigger or broader chested, as it just hangs on me and really swallows me up. Another reviewer mentioned the arm holes being too tight, but I did not have this problem; they didnât form-fit my arms at all, so I guess it depends on what size you order.My other issue is the sequence; it is really bright silver and looks cheap, giving the dressâ decorations more of an 80s look than a 20s beaded look. Overall, the dress isnât absolutely horrible if youâre looking for a more accurate flapper fit, but itâs not great, especially for more petite people.

I purchased this dress for a 1920's party and I loved it! It runs really small! I wear a size 8 and I purchased an XL. I'm also really busty (36DD) so the XL gave me support up top, but it was a little loose in the waist. I added fringe to the bottom to give it a little more pizzazz! Still looked gorgeous!

The dress is very pretty and appears to be well made. I sure appreciate everyone's comments on the size and how the dress runs small. I am 5'4" and weigh 122, 34C, and bought a medium. I am having it altered at the shoulders because it was too big through the arm opening area. I do see what another customer stated about being a little see-thru. It is fully lined but may need a slip.

I was astonished at how poorly this dress fit. I have never submitted a photo in an Amazon review, but I felt the need to so other customers could see how bad the fit really is. It's tight at the top, baggy in the middle, and it nearly touches the floor. It's nothing near the drop-waist 20s feeling I thought it would have. I'm not sure what to make of it. I just know it doesn't work. it is well made and the beading is pretty, so there are some positives to it. Unfortunately, not enough to hide the horrendous fit.

Dress is awesome for the 20's! Somehow it fit like it was taylor made just for my body. For reference I am 5'2", 158, and size 40D bra. Large is perfect! I like the material, too. Not too thin and hangs right. Ordered shoes and a hat so I'm ready for the Decades Ball!The silver sequins are nice and do not look cheap to me as another reviewer mentioned.Go for it!

The first one I received had an open place near bottom of side seam where it wasnât caught in with the stitching. So I had it replaced and the second was perfect. I love this dress which is great for twenties parties or just as a dressy outfit. I got loads of compliments on it! The sequins make it thick enough to cover ripples and slight bulges, though it is lightweight. Highly recommended!

I loved the dress however it was too short for me. The large and XL is 38.5/39â long from shoulder to wavy hem... Iâm a size 10 and the large fit comfortably. Iâll have to return unless I can think of a smart way to lengthen it.

I loved this!!! It's a great material, eels durable and well made.... unfortunately it was too snug in the chest. I'm 5ft 1in and 115 lbs. I'm a 36C. It was a bit too long for the look I was going for as well. If I was a few inches taller and a b cup it would fit. I'm returning it for a different dress.
