Eeeeeee!!!

I'm pretty new to online shopping and figured I'd never order any clothing, because even when I try things on in a store it's so hard to get a good fit. I read all the reviews and questions for this dress, and hoped I was imagining the material correctly. I was! It is perfect in every way. EVERY garment should be made from this material because it can't go wrong. No buttons or velcro, no poochy problem spots, and it breathes! I'm 5'1", normally about 105 but currently about 135. I wanted to find a dress that fits everywhere now, and will fit everywhere after I lose these extra pounds. So far, I think it will. Believe me, you want this dress no matter what size you are. The chart is accurate, there's plenty of give in every direction, the wide pleats work with you instead of against you, (I mean even though I have a small waist and a big booty, the pleats don't go crazy in stupid places) and once you've got it on and you're moving around, the material moves with you and reverts back to its perfect shape like a second skin without bunching, sagging, pooching, or wilting. My first online purchase was a complete success, thanks to this dress. Now my cart is filling up with more. I tried to post a review that said only, "Eeeeee!!!!!" but it was rejected. So let me put it here: Eeeeeeee!!!!!! p.s. I needed to hem it about an inch and a half, but I need to hem everything I buy. I just figure "that's life" until I can afford my own tailor. My only complaint: this style only comes in one color? More, please!

My daughter wanted these for her bridesmaids. They came in the promised 2 days. Of course they were all wrinkled, but we washed them in cold water on delicate cycle and hung to dry, then ironed them, which took some time and skill. They would look better if we had sent them to the dry cleaners. We also got petticoats so the skirts would poof out like the dress pictured. The dresses seem well-made to me, and fit great on all the girls (except for the belts, which fit no one. But we don't plan to use those for the wedding. The belts need more holes and a loop to hold the excess belt). I love the stretchy fabric, the hidden zipper, the full skirt, the classy design, the bright color, and how comfortable it is to wear.
So disappointed, y'all :(

This dress had obviously been worn before it was returned. When I received the dress I didn't open the package immediately because I've bought several other Gowntown dresses and absolutely loved them for fit and quality. I wish I had opened my package sooner. There are wrinkles on the sleeves, an obvious body odor coming from just the armpits, makeup on a couple of spots and a snag or pulled thread on the fabric. I need the dress for tomorrow because it's retro day at my school! My husband said "just wash it", but I paid for a new dress, not a used one!Now I have new shoes, a new hat and necklace, but no dress for tomorrow. I'm utterly disappointed!

This is the third GownTown dress I have bought. This is by far and away the best China based dress company I have bought from. Great quality, true to the size chart, and look exactly as pictured. I love all of my 50's style dresses from here.
Very pretty but, red color is not exact

I got sooo many compliments when I wore this dress. I bought the petticoat to go underneath so that it would poof out. It is not the ruby red I was hoping for, it has more orange tone to it. I bought an XL but I shouldâve gotten a large, I used a belt that I had, because the belt it came with was too big. The only negative that I have is the threading at the waist was loose, but the belt covers it, And it is really wrinkled. I didnât open it until the day I had to wear it, so I didnât have time to work on the loose thread, I was able to steam the wrinkles out.

The dress came in two days as promised. It is a a beautiful turquoise dress, they have it as seagreen. It came in its own package. I checked the stitching and there were no issues with the way the dress is made. The material has a bit of stretch to it so that was a bit unexpected but it gives a bit of stretch in a good way especially if you are a plus size girl like me. I'm short at 5'4" and 220 lbs and a 44DDD bra size and the xxlarge fit perfect. I tried it with both a body shaper and without. The dress fit both ways and it didn't have to stretch in the chest area. It had a comfortable fit in the waist, it is an elastic waist which is nice for extra give but was not cutting into the skin. Since I am short the dress is a bit long but I wear a crinoline and even if it is a bit below the knee it is fine by me after wearing the crinoline. I was concerned after seeing complaints of mold and smell however, I had no such issues with my dress. There was no mold nor was there any unusual smell. It did come with a belt and it is fine matches the dress perfectly and fits. This is my first dress from Gowntown and it won't be the last!

This is probably the 5th dress I bought from GownTown. I love the cuts and how they look on me. Truly, I get a lot of compliments on the dresses when I wear them, which is almost daily when I am meeting with people. At the end of this month I'll be doing a photoshoot in the dresses. Much Brighter Than Expected

The color of this dress looks nothing like what I expected. I bought it in the light blue color and expected the almost periwinkle color shown in the original listing, I think they must have changed the photo recently. My photo doesn't even fully show truly how vibrant this thing is. It is BRIGHT. Also, the belt is super weird. I bought the size small but it seems like I was sent a size large or extra large belt? The belt holes are spaced too far out for me to buckle it. I don't know if this is an issue others have had or if it's just me. But the dress is of pretty good quality and still completely wearable.
