Nice dress, runs small

Nice plain dress made out of flowing, breathable material that hangs nicely. Unlike other dresses I bought on Amazon that had synthetic in them, this can be worn on a hot summer day. Based on the reviews (and ignoring the photo with the not very informative size chart), I picked a large, even though I'm a medium or small in 99% of my dresses (clothing size is usually a 6). The large fits exactly how I like it, not too loose, not too tight. I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs and it hits just above the knees. Dress says made in the US, so maybe this is junior sizing?The waist is an empire waist that's higher in the front than the back (see photo), so it looks good without a belt. That's a big plus, I bought a similar dress with regular waist and it didn't look good without a belt, nor could I find a belt that worked with it.

The dress is darling, made of a comfortable lightweight fabric, with cute shirring detail at waist and true to size with attractive slightly fit around the top but forgiving around the tummy. If you want a tight fit, order your regular size, otherwise, ordering the next size up should be considered. The fabric quality, cut, and design is high quality and exudes great sophistication.
I'm 5'10 and about 160 lbs and it fits nicely..

I'm 5'10 and about 160 lbs and it fits nicely...long enough (which is hard for me to find)...however it has more of an empire waist to it...in the picture you can't tell that, if your not one for it to be that high on you, you should know before you buy.
