Seems to run big, has fit issues

The fabric and design of this dress is actually pretty lovely. I really love the ribbon thing down the shoulder. I am very tempted to keep it because the size 8 is currently at a great price, but it has some issues. I am a fairly average size 8, but the fit of this dress is weird. As I said, I bought an 8 and, looking from the front, it is big on me. It makes me look like I have no shape. So, I pulled the back a little to make it smaller, and the dress looks awesome in the front. I was almost sold at that point. Then, I let go and looked at the fit in the back. The straps gape a little in the back, another indication that it is a little big, but my butt seems to fit the dress. It occurred to me that if I went a size down, it may be too tight around my butt. I went back to the listing and realized that the problem with this dress is that it is not tailored well...it doesn't follow the curves of the body as well as it should. It fits the butt, but should curve in more to follow the curve of the back, I think. So, my options are to order the size 6 (which may also need to get altered) or to get the size 8 tailored. The size 6 is twice the price of the size 8 (although, still low), but I decided to try it because the tailor would likely far exceed the difference. I will update when I receive the 6. =)

I looooove this dress. The quality is fantastic, the color is great, it skims the body nicely. The detail on the shoulder is a really fun touch and the neckline is gorgeous.
Too straight

Very pretty dress but it fits like a pillow case. Not flattering on an hour glass figure. I wanted it to be more fitted around the waist but it just hangs and makes me look frumpy. Too bad bc I love everything else about it...color, style, length, quality...
