May need to reconsider this dress purchase

I am disappointed that the ruffles are not finished. The fabric will fray in time, and will not not be able to be worn again. The frayed areas will be noticeable. A qualified seamstress was unable to finish the edges due to the construction of the dress (the zipper in the back). Loved the dress and the fit but had to return it because of this structural/designer flaw.
Dress cannot be altered!

I do like this dress. What I did not know at the time of purchase is you cannot make alterations due to no seam down the back or on either side, one big loop! I have spoken with several people who do alterations and all have the same answer, dress cannot be altered. I purchased the dress back on June 27, 2018 so I am unable to return, not Amazon's fault.I continued trying to find help, but have not been successful.

I ordered this as a favor for someone and I picked the wrong size. But I still wanted to write a review because the dress is beautiful and would be perfect for a night out or as a mother-of-the bride/groom dress for someone looking for something a bit younger and not so matronly.

I bought this dress for a friend who, didn't have time to shop for a dress and was attending a wedding. It looked amazing on her! She is a size 10 and that is what we I ordered, so order your true size. It was very comfortable she reports, as well as slimming. This dress is well made and a great buy for the money. With the detail around the neck all you need is earrings and a bracelet. The length hit right at the knee and she is approximately 5'2'. The neckline is a gun metal color more the silver. This dress is easy to have taken up, if you like, something a little shorter.The color is fantastic deep shimmering navy.

Very pretty and elegant for the price. Perfect dress for the mother of the bride not too flashy. lots of compliments and easy to move around in.Although I did have to have my son-in-law steam some folds that were creased in when shipped. I would buy same dress again in a different color.

This is an amazing dress, it is nicely lined and a little heavy in material which suits me fine- it is just what the picture shows. It is exactly the color I ordered, the size was a perfect fit and I can't wait to wear this out to a nice restaurant and show it off!! Great quality, I would purchase the London Times brand again - this was my first try with this product.
It has a shimmer to it but it's more tacky than pretty. The color is just meh
