Gown and party dress? More like party city costume w/out accessories.

I am unsure how this got 5/5 stars. The material was thin and resembled a costume you’d buy at Party City. It states that it is floor length but I’m sure it was measured for someone shorter than 5’5 because it came to my ankles. When I took it out of the package, it reeked of a chemically type of smell. I still feel like I can smell a hint of the chemical-like smell on me even after I removed the dress. Would be great if you’re shorter than 5’5 and are wearing it for the sole purpose of a costume on Halloween. Still probably get a better deal at party city because it’d at least come with some accessories for the price.

Bought this dress to wear to a prohibition-based musical event. Guests were requested to "dress in your finest prohibition attire". Mermaid dresses were popular in the 30s. Received lots of compliments - that's always nice!
