NYX jumbo eye pencils are a dream come true for your wallet, your limited time and your gorgeous, deserving eyes. ;-) I have Oyster, Strawberry Milk, Yogurt, Cashmere, Peacock, Milk and Cottage Cheese. They are far less expensive than Urban Decay or even Maybelline Color Tattoo or Loreal Infallible -- about half the price of the last two and about a third of the price of Urban Decay. THE PRODUCT IS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME, with very few differences. For example, in a side-by-side comparison, Maybelline Color Tattoo's "Too Cool" and NYX "Cottage Cheese" look identical on. The saturation, coverage, color and shine are exactly the same. Except that Maybelline is $7 an NYX is $4! Urban Decay is $14!! For an in-depth comparison of NYX to Urban Decay, go to makeupgeek.com "product smackdowns" (no, I am not affiliated with her, just a big fan).NYX is more convenient because you can grab a few, throw them in your purse and go. You don't need a brush, just your finger to touch up and blend. They CAN BE SHARPENED VERY EASILY (more on that in the rest of this review) and, when properly applied, do not crease. Milk (by far the most popular and useful of the colors) has multiple uses and should be your new makeup bag staple. I truly hope NYX doesn't catch on to how wonderful and convenient their jumbo pencils are and start charging us more -- it is RARE that we ladies can find an affordable product that actually WORKS and makes us happy we purchased it. They can be purchased on Amazon, of course, but also (for those of us on the East Coast) at Ulta.A few tips and comments:*SHARPENING:There is a lot of talk online about needing to depot your Jumbo Pencil to be able to use it because the product is so creamy (the reason it is so easy to use and looks so great on) that when you try to sharpen it, it turns to mush. NOT TRUE. You can certainly depot your Jumbo Pencils if you like that application, but it's much more convenient to use them as a pencil and a lot more trouble than it is worth once you know how to sharpen them. You need pliers, an empty shadow pan, a hot hair dryer and loads of time and patience to depot your pencils. You only need a little know-how to sharpen them. A no-brainer.1) Get an inexpensive E.L.F. or NYX dual sharpener ($4 -- it has two sharpeners side-by-side, one regular sized, one large, with a removable cover to catch the shavings) and use the large side for sharpening your Jumbo Pencil.2) PUT YOUR NYX JUMBO PENCILS IN THE FREEZER FOR 15 MINUTES. The edge where the pencil meets the product looks and feels like plastic but it is not -- it is actually very heavily shellacked wood. If you sharpen your Jumbo Pencils within about five minutes of taking them out of the freezer, they sharpen quite easily. No product is wasted and they are just like new.3) Use a q-tip to remove any creamy product from the blades of the sharpener so the next color doesn't transfer or smear and you start with a clean sharpener. You are totally welcome :)*DIFFERENT USES FOR THE COLOR "MILK":1) Eye Primer/Base -- I use E.L.F. Face Primer, Revlon PhotoReady foundation, E.L.F. Eyeshadow Primer and a light dusting of powder and then run Milk on the lower lid of my eye (not into the crease) and blend it a bit. BAM! Any color that goes on top not only stays on longer but really POPS. I have never had a problem with creasing when I prep my lids this way. You can really pile on the product and it stays put. If you want extra insurance, dust your eyes with a little powder when you're finished with your shadow (before you put on mascara) and use a makeup set/finishing mist (E.L.F. Finishing Mist is $3 at Target and works wonderfully).2) Use Milk on your lower water line -- truly opens your eyes3) Milk blended on the center lower lid as a finishing accent -- it adds pop, dimension and a more natural accent4) Brow accent -- blended right below your eyebrows in the upper/outer corner to create depth and contrast5) Finishing concealer -- to cover and conceal any flaked eyeshadow/liner underneath your eyes after you are done6) Inner tear duct accent -- just a dot blended in each corner opens and brightens your eyeThe uses go on and on. You can buy Milk in a three-pack -- well worth the purchase as they go FAST.*COLOR SATURATION:The only reason NYX Jumbo Pencils do not get five stars is because the lighter colors are not as saturated as they could be. Oyster, Strawberry Milk, Yogurt and Cashmere are BEAUTIFUL, but not saturated colors for fairer skin. They are silky, shimmery and natural, but not bright. I am very pale and these are more like accent colors to either make a sweet shimmery brow highlight or a finish for the center of the lower lid to create a lighter effect against a dark background. No doubt if you have darker skin, all these colors will show up well and be gorgeous on you.Peacock, on the other hand, is a beautifully saturated green-blue color that mixes and blends wonderfully with Cottage Cheese and Oyster to create an ocean-themed summery eye that is not over the top (although Peacock could certainly be used for big drama -- especially if you line your eyes with black. Va-va-VAVOOM!)Since they are creamy and well-made, all NYX jumbo pencils mix and blend very well -- the lighter colors will even blend completely out if coaxed enough with a brush or your finger. But their staying power is not as good as a product like Maybelline Color Tattoo, for example. This is good if you want to get your makeup off more easily at the end of the day! Color Tattoo takes soap, water, scrubbing and cold cream to really remove. NYX takes as many steps (for me -- I want a CLEAN face at bedtime) but not as much elbow grease. So, long and short: JUST GET THESE. Totally worth it!

Color looks perfect, although I CANâT GET TO IT. â¹ï¸ The liner âleadâ is stuck down in the casing and Iâve tried everything to get it to rise out of the casing. But the casing doesnât twist and thereâs no push-up portion. So frustrating to be able to see the eyeliner, but not have access to it.

It specifically says in the description "easy to blend," "apply as a base," and "combines an eyeshadow and eye liner all-in-one." None of this is true. If you try to blend it, it just disappears. If you try to use it as a base or an eyeshadow, it slides into your creases and otherwise disappears. In the inside corners of the eye areas, it has that crumbly cakey look, not at all smooth as described. Very disappointed in this product.

I used this to plot out my Corpse Bride makeup and to fill in the "eyes" as a base before adding the white stage makeup over it. I also used it to pencil in the "eyebrows" before adding the black lines with gel eyeliner. Made it much easier to get the lines right in white before making a mess with the black!

The makeup itself - the white pigment that you apply to your face - is great. It's got great color, goes on smoothly and easily and I can't even feel it on my face. But the pencil format as is is awful. The reasons:1) You need to have an extra huge pencil sharpener. I have a Tweezerman sharpener that has the regular size and the large openings and the large opening was still not big enough. Fortunately, I have a giant novelty pencil and the sharpener that came with it, which is what I had to use.2) The container that the pigment is in appears to be some kind of plastic that does not take very well to sharpening. It chips off in chunks (as you may be able to see in my pic) which makes sharpening go un-smoothly, which the creamy makeup does not like. My first attempt resulted in the entire makeup tip breaking off. I put it in the freezer for awhile and that stopped the tip from breaking off, but I was still very nervous that it would. I also felt like a lot of material was getting wasted as I was sharpening it and the creamy makeup really gummed up the sharpener. So, if you're going to be using this as more of an eye shadow where you're not really worried by the sharpness of the tip, it'll be a great product for you - just remember to put it in the freezer for about 30 mins before you sharpen it. However, if you want to use it as more of an eyeliner, like I did, don't bother. I'm going to find something more like a traditional eyeliner pencil.

I purchased the NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Jumbo Eye Pencil in the Yogurt color. This was the first time trying these pencils by NYX, but I have used some of their other products that I've liked. I'm glad I got this as an "add on deal" & it wasn't expensive, because otherwise I may be more disappointed. The pencil does not twist up, & does not look like it can be sharpened, so there is very little product. The yogurt color looks nice at first glance, but when you apply it, it has this gold shimmer, but it tones down somewhat as you blend it in. It may look better on someone younger, but for me, it really accentuated the creases & it wasn't flattering at all. Plus, it didn't last all that long, so this is a product I will not purchase again. :(

Used as eyeliner...I.e water line. Totally waterproof lasts my 13 hour shifts! Just washed my face with tea tree scrub & it was still there! Normal gold eyeliner pencils - top brands wash off-so although I had to use wipes to remove ot I was really happy to know it lasts!!!

Excellent shadow stick especially for use as a base... using the white shade will ensure all powder eyeshadows will stand out creating that pop of colour and I've found my eyeshadow lasts much longer too. Although a fat pencil I have no problem in being able to sharpen it in a dual sized sharpener, I was actually surprised that it sharpened so well nd easily This has become a staple in my makeup routine, I wouldn't be with it now for use as a base and would definitely recommend!

The gold shade works fabulously as a base and prolongs my eyeshadow's intensity all day long. I daresay it can be used on its own but I'm prone to creasing with products like this, so it's only a base product for me as it doesn't crease when used that way. But I can't fault it at all, and will be purchasing other shades in the future. Highly recommended!

It stays on for a long time on the waterline unlike my other white eyeliner. I can also use it as a base for eyeshadows. It's thick and creamy. Lasts a while.

Really good eye pencil, love the package, shape and colour. Quite easy to blend, goes on very soft and smooth, however it still looks a bit transparent when on the eye lid, not as opaque as I would have preferred, therefore the colour doesn't look that intense (so will take one star down). It is nice to use as a base under an eye shadow, doesn't crease which is really really good. All in all I love this product and will consider purchasing again.

This is a great eyeshadow pencil, it is very creamy and easy to blend with good pigmentation. Although, its creamy consistency causes the colour to wear off during the day.

I am brown in skin colour and I must say this stuff makes all the difference! my eye shadows appear much more pigmentated and vibrant. So glad i invested. I will be purchasing the Black Bean soon. I used this on top of my Urban Decay eye primer potion as I was unsure if i needed a base or not, however i do not think i did need a base as this stuff is pretty good

Firstly I can see this product's use is for eye lining and shadow and I was planning to use the product for both - I would imagine this product is far too thick for lining (and I wear my eyeliner slightly thicker than usual!) so just used this as a shadow, however was a bit disappointed to find that it didn't seem to dry, and settled into the crease of my eyelid pretty sharpish. Otherwise, the colour is very bold and vibrant while it lasts, but I found when wearing this on my eyelids I had to re-smudge it back into place, and it's not that easy a product to get off your fingers! Perhaps a translucent powder would work best over this product so it sets properly. Unfortunately I bought this in black bean, so I'd imagine it would leave a powdery finish over the top, as the formula is very creamy and doesn't seem to set properly, staying shiny. Nevertheless I'm giving this product an extra star, you can tell this is a top quality product as it doesn't drag over the eye and is very well packaged.
