Go by waist & hip measurements
Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2019
*UPDATE 8/11/19* Now that I am about 1 month and half post lipo, I noted the XL seemed to have stretched and didnt provide as tight compression as I needed and I started to get a lot of sernomas and lumps even though I basically lived in the garment and did lymphatic massages. My stomach started to just hurt and be hard in some spots. A lot of my swelling post stomach lipo has gone away. So i measured and ordered a Medium. I've lost a few lbs since my initial ordering and my measurements are now: waist 29, hips 40, weighing 173lbs. I would still say this is true to size and to go by hip and waist measurements. It's supposed to be tight and I did struggle to get the medium up over my hips/butt , after that it went on smoothly. I wear the garment with my ab board and to flank pads as it tends to fold in the sides...guessing because I'm short waisted. The only con I see between both sizes I've ordered are the shoulder straps. I dont think it matters what size, the straps are just weird and can put a lot of pressure on the shouldersLENGTHY REVIEW...BUT I hope it helps someone. I'm two weeks post lipo and wanted a short compression garment. The one I received from my physician after lipo is knee length. The reviews/sizing is so scattered on this garment. So after looking at this garment and reading reviews for days.... I finally ordered it based on my hip and waist size. My measurements are waist =30, hips = 44. I weigh 180, athletic, curvy build. I wear a size 9/10 in pants usually a large top. Looking at the chart here, I am in between L and XL. I'm always concerned if my thick thigh will fit things, so I decided to size up to XL. I was kind of nervous when I opened the packaging as a lot of reviews say go two sizes up. It looked extremely small.So...here goes it.You have to put this baby on little by little, inch by inch. It's best to sit down and put it on. I put one leg in and pulled up to my thigh, then the other leg...(rest break. ) shimmied it around my butt and then pulled the straps on my shoulders(rest). Then just take your time and do the hooks....maybe easier lying flat. All set... I did break a sweat putting this thing on, but it is the compression I need to finish healing...great support. If I had any CONS, I would say the chart on the packaging is different then what's listed here. Also the straps are a little tight if I adjust them, so i left them unadjusted. I know sizing up to an 2XL will be bigger and not provide the support i need.
Review for Post Surgery Compression Garmet
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2019
This review is not for those looking to suck in the belly fat. It is for those who are looking for an after surgery compression garmet. There is a HUGE difference in the type of shaper you need when you have surgery. I had a tummy tuck with lipo and needed a good compression garmet for swelling. After a tummy tuck your abdomen is swollen and HARD. There is no give like there is when you have a little pudge to control. My pudge was removed and I was so frustrated trying to find a shaper that worked for me which didn't cost hundreds of dollars. I have ordered and returned at least 15 compression shapers from all different brands including Salome. Most were too small because I ordered based on my MEASUREMENTS. BIG MISTAKE. You cannot order your size when you are looking for after surgery garments. The shapers are designed to suck in pudge and I'm sure work perfectly for that feat. But for after surgery compression you need at least 2-3 sizes bigger because there is no give in the belly area and it's painful trying to put a garmet on. I struggle even at week 5 postop. I am a size 10. My under bust measurement is a 31.5. My waist is a 32.5 (with swelling) and my hips are a 41. According to the size chart I should fit a size large. The sizes vary by shaper even within the same brand. I had to order a XXL to get the comfort and compression I needed to heal properly. This particular shaper Salome 0413 works the best for me. It's a great price. I'm very happy with this as it also rounds my booty and gives it a little lift and smooths out the bra area on my back that bulges from back fat when you put your bra on (that's going to be my next cosmetic procedure - I'm saving those dollars for it!). Comfort is Most important since you'll be in your garmet 24 hours a day. Anything that prevents you from sitting and lying comfortably or eating is counter productive! Hope this helps some of you avoid the frustrating learning experience I went through. Enjoy!

I read the reviews before purchasing it and since most of the people said it runs small i decided to bought an XL. I normally wear a size M shirt and size 8 or 10 in pants. Well when the item arrive I saw their chart that shows the XL was for weight 171-190 so i got scared cause I only weight 155. I decided to try it on and IT DID NOT FIT, I was never able to close the zipper and believe me when I said I TRIED. Very disappointed â¹ï¸
Just the right compression and doesnât dig in.

It was a little hard to put on at first but for the right compression thatâs how it should be. Once it was over my hips it was easy to put on, hook and zip up. The crotch area didnât dig in like the thong version of this garment. The butt didnât lift much but It didnât compress the area either. It did make a nice difference and the elastic on sides did stay in place all day. Love wearing it daily. I bought a Large and I am 5,2 and 150 lbs. I bought one size up (i am a Med I bought a Large) and It was the right fit. Canât wait to go down a size and wear a Medium!
Awesome compression!!

I got the XL salome faja, and I really like it. It completely compresses and smooths my lower belly pooch and my bra fat. The zippered closure in the front really hides the clasps, and you really can't see the seams under your clothes Im 5'7 200 lbs and I carry my weight in my belly, so I don't have an sandclock figure. This faja shapes my waist nicely, and lifts my booty, even though I really don't have one. Another nice thing about this garment, is that it has compression all the way down to the pubic area so it doesn't give you a "camel toe". I can tell you guys that it's hard to put on, but if it goes over your hips, it will fit. I had to pull it up with the hooks in the front clasped, but the zipper undone and with help from my husband. I'm used to wearing this type of compression so I know that it has to be tight. All in all I really like the garment and since I wear fajas under my clothes every day I'm definitely getting another one.

The fit was good. It comfortable or doesn't give a super hourglass shape as the longer ones do, but I suppose that is because the longer one shapes the thighs as well. It is a high hold compression garment that is very comfortable my torso appears to be longer than the model for this one. But it's comfortable great for shorts and skirts and it wears nicely under band t-shirts. If your looking for the hourglass shape you get from the full-length ones you might not like this one however it holds everything in places gives your butt a good lift and it does rapper you instill, in an attractive form. I like it alot, and it will help open my wardrobe a lot as it is summer now.
