My new daily carry purse.

This is the perfect sized bag for a working professional. It's lightweight when I don't pack it full yet holds everything I think I need (my daily carry: large wallet (vb all in one crossbody without the strap), medium cosmetics bag, sunglasses case, a5 notebook, hand sanitizer, pen case, phone, keys). I've washed it twice and don't see any wear on the leather parts that have broken for other customers. I love the dual straps and everything else about it. The size is almost a cross between a mini messenger bag and a purse. It's about the same size as the VB hipster but holds more items without looking stuffed. Photo 2: A5 notebook moved to the outer side pocket for size comparison (this is the largest size that could fully fit in the pocket but can be used to compare to most tablets). Holds loads, stands on it's own, crossbody strap is v.long so suits all sizes -short, tall, narrow and wide.

I love the style, it's very practical - as are most Vera Bradley styles - and the new smaller quilting gives the bag a 'richer' look. ...and if that's not enough, the colour Hawthorn Rose has such a rich look that I've relagated this one to my 'professional' shelf. I also have the Vera Vera Carson Shoulder bag in Navy, so now I have 2 'dressy professional' bags.There are 2 large (each half the width of the bag) pockets at the front, under the magnetic close flap. Next comes the main top zippered pocket with 2 slip pockets for reading glasses or mints or store rewards cards, then a zippered pocket on the back wall that has another natty little pocket for a phone/media charger and a large eyelet allowing a charger cord to feed through to your phone or whatever in the large, magnetic close full width back pocket. I actually use this little pocket to keep a tiny purse size perfume in since I never need to charge my phone on the go. Also, the zipper pocket it big enough for me to store all my cosmetic products I use when I'm out, so the main pocket is free for iPad, wallet, sun glasses etc.This handbag is a little bit like a TARDIS - bigger on the inside. It's deceptive the amount it really holds and I was delighted to find that I could put a full size iPad in it, plus my Planner and all the other things for my daily commute.Finally, having the 2 straps so you can wear it either shoulder or crossbody is inspired. I always wear it crossbody because I like my hands free, so it's nice that the shoulder strap can be removed and stored away - the same applies if you just want to use the shoulder strap and store the crossbody strap.
Best purse for a vacation

I bought this bag for a family vacation. I love it and can't bring myself to stop using it. Both of the straps completely detach so you can either have a shoulder bag or a crossbody without the annoying extra strap always being in the way. The front flap pockets are perfect for my camera and sunglasses, with the inside having enough room for everything a mom would need to pack for a day at Disney with a 4 year old and a Hubby. I am getting this bad boy in a couple other colors so I can trade out!

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Within a month of receiving this bag, it fell apart. The shoulder strap snapped at the metal connection and it dropped to the floor of a NYC subway station. Not good at all!!! It's not fixable so had to jury rig the bag so that I could use it. I'm going back to Kate Spade. This was a huge waste of money.
45 days after purchase long strap breaks off!!!

I purchased this bag about 45 days ago and LOVED it until two days ago when one of the claps on the long strap literally broke off making the entire strap unusable. For $125+ this shouldnât happen less than two months after buying this purse.

I love this bag. Itâs lightweight and has pockets for everything. I alternate between the shoulder strap and the crossbody strapâ both are perfect. Iâm thinking of buying another one in a different color. I canât find anything wrong with this bag!

I like the design, especially the options to use either strap and remove the one not in use. The grey fabric is a great neutral. I have used Vera Bradley bags pretty much exclusively for many years and wanted to try this new design. I used the Bowler (now the turn latch Satchel) for many years and then switched to the Mailbag. The Mailbag has just been redone and I am not as happy with the changes. The Carson has elements of both the Mailbag and the Satchel so hopefully it will meet my needs.
Carson is a great bag, not too big and carries a lot

Love it. It comes with two straps, one is short and dressier, one is long and crossbody for everyday. Pockets are just right for all my high-maintenance items. Lol.
