Not the same quality as the original Melissa Hobo

I have owned 10+ Frye leather handbags, one of which is the Frye Melissa Hobo Burnt Red that I bought 3 years ago. I wanted to have a lighter color so I ordered this Melissa Whipstitch hobo dark taupe to take advantage of the recent 30% off. When I opened the box, I was very disappointed. First, the color is dull and the dark patches on leather make the bag look dirty or used. Second, the leather is thin and filmsy, and wrinkly in the bottom area. Third, it does not have a key holder strap inside the bag as the original Melissa does. Because of these, I have returned it.

This is a beautiful, well made bag. The leather is thick but soft to the touch. The lining is tightly woven and well secured. The hardware isn't too blingy. It fits perfectly against your body. The strap doesn't dig in or twist when worn. The size is perfect for all your essentials (wallet, phone, keys, some makeup, sunglasses, snack) with room to spare for a few more small items. The perfect bag for a classic casual look for when you dont want to look frumpy or fussy.
