The color is a rich brown and the leather is beautiful. I did use a leather punch to add more holes in the strap only because I like a shorter strap. This bag is beautiful and a perfect saddle bag

I bought this bag 1 1/2 years ago and the leather is in excellent shape, as is the stitching—& I am hard on purses. I happened to drop it (more than once) flat down on the clasp and it finally snapped off. It was never loose—and it was a sort of freak accident onto marble. I loved this purse so much that I am buying a second one. It walks the perfect balance between Boho/earthy and being refined. I get compliments on it all the time.
