Nice, simple shoes with two small issues

I'm not a shoe person. In fact, this is the first new pair of shoes I've bought in three years. I'm happy with them. I don't like getting fancy - I don't need bows, sequins, decorative stitching, funky holes, weird-looking layers, buttons, or any other junk on my shoes. I can't wear high heels; I'm on my feet all day and need something comfortable but professional-looking. I need a wide width, which can be hard to find at reasonable prices.These shoes fit the bill pretty well. I wasn't certain of the size, and it turned out 9.5 was just too small. I reordered in 11 and they were just a bit too large, which I quickly remedied with some heel inserts. Now they're still on the large side but I can live with them.I do have two problems with these shoes. I wish they came in a 10.5, as I suspect that's my real size. But the real problem: I wish shoe companies would stop making women's dress shoes that have zero traction. Seriously, the soles on these things are as smooth as a granite countertop and I damn near broke my ankle slipping on carpet when I tried them on. I'm going to have to buy anti-slip pads to adhere to the underside so I don't end up in the hospital. I like the shoes enough that I'll do so, but really, I shouldn't have to purchase additional accessories to make a pair of shoes safe on everyday surfaces. It's not like I'm taking them ice fishing or something.

They are lovely-looking shoes, but I ordered 8.5 E, and they are NOT extra wide in the least. I am very, very disappointed, and am sending them back. If you have a narrow foot, these will work well, but be aware the C/D and E sizes are not what you'd expect. Don't buy if you're looking for a wide toe box.

This is the second time I am ordering these. First I ordered 8.5 which was too long. Then I ordered 8w still long. Pic attached mecwewring 8w. (looks like they both are about same length) . My shoes size usually is 8w or 8.5. Wish I had read previous reviews! Many people mentioned sizing issue. I will order 7.5 w and will update review.Ok I received the 7.5 W. It's still long! But not as much as 8W.Its somewhere between 7.5 and 8. So I am keeping it. I will buy some heel snugs and try to manage. Another issue I noticed now that I wore it once is that there is no padding at the ball of foot. Unless you are walking in carpet, your foot is going to hurt.

I needed beige pumps to wear to a new dress for my grandson's wedding. I didn't want anything above a 2" heel and I didn't want an open-toe. I looked all over town but could find nothing suitable so I decided I would have to order online. I was really skeptical because I couldn't try them on before buying them. They arrived on time and they were perfect! They are very comfortable. We had to be at the church 2 hours before the ceremony for pictures, walk across a long parking lot both coming and going, go through the ceremony, walk a mile from the parking lot at the reception, stand around in there before being seated, then table-hopping to visit and then walking through the exhibits in the reception hall, then a little dancing, then the trek back to the car--and I was comfortable the whole time! So unless it was just a happy fluke, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these shoes. They have a soft leather feel to them. The color is even. The inside is comfortably padded and supportive. The only thing I would change is that the soles are slippery, but not enough to make me fall down.

Overall I like this shoe. I normally order wides since my feet are just barely a wide (some shoes I can wear a normal width). However the wide in this shoe is pretty narrow in the front around the ball of my foot but the heel feels like a normal wide. This could be an issue if you're a 'true' wide or wider. Getting wider than your normal width could result in your heel slipping out. They have stretched out in the front with a couple wearings, so I may end up getting additional colors since they are now more comfortable. They are slippery on the bottoms, so be careful when first wearing them. Once you're on sidewalk/pavement just scrape the bottoms along the pavement and they will no longer be slippery.

Disappointed to have to send these back because they were too large. I wear an 8.5 and these fit more like a healthy size 9. I may try re-ordering in an 8 for a wedding this fall.
Not perfect but wearable

I have difficult to fit feet but when I saw a double wide size available in this simple pump at such a good price, I had to try it out. The shoes do fit but are slightly narrow (for me) in the toe area and I cannot see myself walking comfortably in them all day. That being said, I think they were worth the low price I paid (under $20) and with some padding in the tips of the toes, they are wearable.
Too large in the heel

These are very nice shoes which I purchased in wide in order to fit the width of my foot across the base of the toes. However, the heel was so wide that my foot kept slipping out the back and the shoes looked rather like I was wearing "Mommy's dress-up" shoes. Heel pads did not help. I even purchased two identical pair to see if there was a difference from one pair to another--no significant difference. I measured them to another pair I had purchased by Soft Style a few years back: they were the very same length and sizing (9W) so evidently the heel well is just wider in this particular style. Too bad as they are very lovely shoes, well made, with a nice comfy, flexible sole and last. Had to send them back. :(

The sizing is way off. I don't know how shoe manufactures come up with shoe sizes but these shoes fit like a medium or regular width..... no where did it even come close to being a d width!

Fit is good but it took almost 3 weeks to be delivered to Montreal from Eastern US. Size is good and product is good quality, also the price was not clear initially.
