Convert "Youth Size" to "Adult Size" before ordering

RCH

My daughters have been wearing this type of ballet shoe for years with no complaints. They're comfortable and reasonably good quality. I want to comment on the sizing issue, though. If you're buying for a child who wears a youth size 1 to 4.5 you must convert the size to an adult women's size by going up 2 sizes, otherwise it will be too small. So, for example, my older daughter wears a youth size 4 so she wears a size 6 in these shoes. My younger daughter wears a youth size 3 street shoe, so we order an adult women size 5 for her ballet shoes. Hope this helps someone :)

Good dance shoe

I was totally confused about the size from both the reviews on Amazon and on the Capezio website. I wear an 8N or 8M street shoe, depending on the cut of the shoe. The last pair of Capezios I bought (made in USA a LONG, LONG time ago) was a 7M. After reading the reviews I decided to try the 7.5M. I would definitely say the 8M would have been better. I must say I prefer Capezios to other ballet flats because the toe area is more widely cut and round. I tried Bloch's and they pinched my toes even after stretching. Will get this shoe again only in the size 8. The shoe is comfortable and the leather is nice and soft.

These shoes came earlier than expected and fit very well. I bought my regular shoe size which is 10 and it fits perfectly. The quality is great but the sides kind of stick out when I bend my foot which I assume probably won't affect my dancing but if it does I'll update my review.

Order 2 sizes larger than your child’s street shoe size.

Wonderful shoe. My daughters ballet masters have asked that the students wear solid leather shoes with solid soles (no split soles) because they strengthen the feet. These are exactly as pictured. My daughter wears a child’s street size 2 (she’s 9 yo) and we ordered the women’s 4. Fit great with a bit of room for growth.

Thick, Sturdy Leather But Very Odd Sizing for Boys

I purchased a pair of black ballet slippers for my young son. First, these shoes are fairly well made, with solid stitching and details. The black shoe leather and suede sole are made of nice, thick leather. However, in the pair my son received, there was a pea-sized spot of yellow glue on the inside white lining. So I had to deduct one star for somewhat sloppy craftsmanship. My son wears a 4.5 in ballet slippers, so I bought him a size 5. While the length was correct, with some room to grow for his toes, he struggled to try one shoe on. Turns out they are very narrow in the heel, then they widen in the middle to the toe. So they were too tight in the heel area and very uncomfortable. He didn't even try on the other shoe because of the bad fit. They were cut very strangely, which surprised me for such a well-known brand like Capezio. I don't know if we somehow got a factory-second or what. It was disappointing these shoes did not fit, because they were offered at such a great price here on Amazon. Where I live we have one dance store, so they charge exorbitant prices for their shoes and dance wear. We were hoping these shoes would work out so we could continue to order them on Amazon. For us, it did not.I must commend Amazon for offering a new Return program. Before, we would have to re-package the item ourselves, print out the label, then drop it off at a nearby UPS store. That was already very easy, but NOW, Amazon made it even easier--we printed out the Return Code, brought it in along with the slippers in their original box and packaging, and dropped everything off at UPS. You don't even have to re-pack the item; UPS will do it for you. Easy peasy! Another great reason why we shop online at Amazon. Hopefully we will find a brand locally that will fit my son--once we do, we will most likely purchase future pairs at Amazon, if the same style is offered.

Finally a ballet shoe that fits!!!

The Capezio Daisy ballet shoe is the FOURTH dance shoe from Amazon that my daughter has tried. With no dance supply stores near us open on the weekends, we were getting desperate. My daughter wears a women’s size 7 street shoe. The Bloch brand ballet shoes were way too big and wide, even when ordering 2 sizes down in the narrow shoe. We then tried a pair of Tent jazz shoes that were too tight fitting even when following the size guide. FINALLY we tried the Capezio Daisy, and the size 7 (her street size) are perfect! They are a bit wide, but this is easily fixed by tightening the elastic string and tying a tight knot. Plus there is no interior stitching or inside tags to irritate her foot - the shoes are very comfortable for her. Very happy with this purchase.

The shoes are good quality. The fit was a little tricky. I wear 8 or occasionally 8.5 M in street shoes, depending on the shoe (8.5 is always roomy), so I ordered 8.5. Too tight in the toe box, and not sure whether they were long enough or not, as they are supposed to fit rather close to the foot. I know they stretch a bit and conform to the foot, but they say not to keep them if they are actually uncomfortable, which they were. I really didn't know whether to just go up to a 9M, or actually get a Wide (which I never do in shoes). Got the 9M and they are better. Just enough extra to go around.Ballet shoes always seem to gap around the sides; just pull the elastic tie to take up the slack, tie it and tuck it inside the shoe. The 8.5s came in a red Capezio box and had a red logo inside and a ballerina on the outer sole. The 9s came in a poly bag, have a different, grey logo inside and a stylized "X" on the outer sole. I wondered whether I had a legit product, but the photos from Capezio do show the latter style. The problem was that the 9s arrived with a noticeable number of what looked like black animal hairs inside the shoes. They seemed perfect otherwise, but that was kind of gross. I took photos and told Amazon about it. I didn't care enough to return them, and they did offer a minor comp.

good fit comfy to wear I prefer the leather over the canvas ones as they are easier to clean and wipe.

Excellent ballet shoes. This is the third pair (and third brand) of ballet shoes I have bought within a few weeks in order to find the right shoes and fit and these are perfect. Lovely soft, supple leather makes them better by far for movement of the foot, particularly for pointing ! I have a narrow foot and the narrow fitting is just right. I am normally a size 4 but bought a 5.5 and that was a good fit length-wise. Would definitely recommend for beginners like me !

The sizing was a bit smaller than expected as these were way too small on my daughter, despite havjng gone for a size bigger than she was last measured as. We have returned them, hoping for exchange. They are lovely quality shoes.

I love these ballet shoes though I prefer the split sole for ballet classes. I ordered these as I liked the daisies design inside. I need to find a way to cut the sole, if not I'll use them for other gym exercises, where the split sole is not so important. The elastic bands are already sewn, though I find it a bit too tight for my feet. From my experience with other ballet shoes I recommend to be worn with some socks otherwise during ballet pointed toe it is easy for the nail to cut into the leather, and make a little hole. It happened to me with a pair of Juliet ballet shoes, even with my toe nails cut to a minimum. The leather is soft, not like in street shoes and easy to damage. I ordered size 8 and I wear size 8 or 7 ½ in street shoes. They fit really well.

By the pictures and comments I thought this was a toddlers dance shoe also.. and it’s not, it’s full grown woman’s. (I wrote in the search bar “toddlers ballet shoe” and this came up) and the main picture is clearly a children’s dance shoe so I ordered it and it’s a woman’s shoe so I had to send it back :( I got the refund then amazon took the refund back a day later so I’m not sure what’s going on, I never even opened the shoe box, to look at the shoe...

good quality, but the fit is really bad. i'm a size 10 (i don't even go through "maybe a 9.5", i'm a 10 period.) these are the right length, but will no doubt stretch and then become too big. but the major issue is the width - way-way too wide. they gape badly on all sides, w/out the elastic they'd easily fall off. cannot use them for dance, but will keep them as house slippers.

Ballet shoes; love these; I ordered a size 6.5 Wide ( very important to mesure your feet as per chart) They are snugg but from dancing experience they will expand a bit. I apply a leather protecteur on my first try.. If you prefer a bit loose go up .5

Very sweet shoes. Nice light pink colour and soft leather. I purchased my true size, which was fine, but the sides gape a bit. My feet are standard width. These seem to fit a bit wide. I'd likely go for a narrow fit next time. Overall though, satisfied with purchase.

This ballet shoe came in good condition, and was true to size. My original street shoe size is 8, but I ordered an 8.5 for safe measures. I took the advice to order a bit bigger than your original shoe size for a comfortable fit, and the fit was perfect. The adjustable bands help to fit to the width of your foot. I danced in them and had no trouble with slipping or tightness. It's a great quality shoe and great for the price!

The length is just right, but they are too wide even I chose N version. Therefore after 5 ballet classes, the shoes became loose and I had to buy another pair in canvas. In my opinion, canvas ballet shoes work better for practice.

OMG these are perfect! I hate fluffy slippers that make my feet hot, but needed something to be able to wear around the house. These fit the bill perfectly! First pair was a little big but they immediately swapped for a smaller size without any issues or problems! Highly recommend this product and love the service.
