Best flat for wide feet but the dusty pink is more like a dusty rose

Veronica

Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2014

I ordered this shoe in a 41. I wear a 41 in birkenstocks and these were a perfect fit. I have wide feet and most ballet style flats are too shallow in the toe box making them uncomfortable and unflattering because my feet don't really fit in them, but these look fantastic on my feet and are extremely comfortable. I ordered them in the dusty pink. I thought the pink was going to be much lighter and closer to a nude color. These are more like a dusty rose color. I love everything about this shoe except the color, so I will be exchanging them for another color.

Painful elastic

CBx

Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2017

I really wanted to like this flat. First, I bought my size, a 38. The thicker elastic dug into the back of my heel, and the elastic band around the top continually pulled the shoe tight. After a bit of walking, my toes would scrunch up in the front, I would stop and readjust, and then it would happen again. I did not wear them much before giving up on them.Next, I bought a size 40. Plenty of length, I thought, so the elastic wouldn't be an issue. Nope, the elastic was still an issue - same heel pain, same scrunched-up toes after walking a bit (although a bit less because the shoe was longer). More to the point, I noticed that at the end of the day, the whole top of my foot was in pain from the elastic digging in at the front. I do have bunionettes and so am extra sensitive on the outside of my foot, but this was intense.Basically, these shoes hurt my feet in ways I did not realize was possible. I will not be ordering them again.

making them hellaciously grimy and dirty and smelly after a few months of casual wear

Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2015

These shoes are cute and passable as work flats. But they are incredibly sweaty due to the material and lack of breathability, making them hellaciously grimy and dirty and smelly after a few months of casual wear. I have to take them off throughout the day just to let my feet dry off - and I don't have naturally sweaty feet! They are also slightly too narry and tight, not what you want in a barefoot shoe. They're better than your average flat, but not the best out there.*Update*: I got some tiny silk socks designed to be worn with flats and they have improved these shoes immenseley! I can now wear them without my feet swimming at the end of the day - although the inside of the shoes are so dirty by now that they stain the socks. Oh well. At least they're comfy now.

Not worth the price.

My feet are constantly slipping inside the shoe toward the toe area, causing my toes to be squished in the front of the shoes and the elastic around the top (over the top of my foot near the base of my toes) digs in and is very uncomfortable, leaving a red mark. The vegan leather is unattractive, dull, and looks old and unkempt. Vivobarefoot shoes have come highly recommended from folks who are into barefoot shoes, but given my experience, I won't buy another pair since they are, in my opinion, overpriced and underperforming. Do not recommend at all! I wish I could return but I've worn them a few times (trying to give them a chance!) and the seller only accepts returns of new items.

Best zero drop/barefoot flats around- *edited after lots of walking*

Dave

Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2014

Dave's wife:Note- size 37 is not a 7, it is a US 6.5.While the lack of fun colors and patterns is a bit of an annoyance, Vivo's Jing Jing is hands down the only flat I will wear after going through the barefoot running transition.I only wore Croc flats before, but compared to my Vivo Ultras the Crocs feel cramped. That's when I knew I had to bite the bullet and buy Vivo's flats in whatever color I could get in my size. My feet were sore and I got blisters from wearing my Crocs (that were well worn in from before going "barefoot") to walk around Tokyo. If you wear minimalist/zero drop/barefoot shoes and need a cute, versatile flat then this is your shoe. They are comfortable and cute.-----EDITED-----I originally gave these 5 stars because at that point I was wearing them around the house, running errands, etc.I dropped them to a 4 after wearing them for a bit longer.I lost the feeling on the outer half of both my big toes and the ends of my toes hurt. I think the elastic in the sides pulls the toes in, putting pressure on the ends of your toes. The dead sensation in the sides of my toes went away, but still- that can't be good for your feet.No blisters, just he numbness I mentioned above.I tried using my width/length wooden shoe stretcher for over 48 hours. As it turns out, these shoes won't really stretch since they aren't real leather.Note- the footbed is not as wide as vivo running shoes, so while they're wider than most shoes on the market, you won't feel as free as you do in Pures, etc.I am a 6.5-7, and the problem is that if I wanted a bigger size I would have to go up a full shoe size. If I could get these in a half size bigger I think they would be perfect.---------Update: Turns out that if you go to Vivo's own website you can get a size suggestion in not only their own shoes, but how their shoes will fit compared to other brands.I wear a 37 in the ultra's, but they suggest a 38 in the jing jings (I bought a whole size smaller than they suggested.) Mystery solved.I was able to return all the pairs I ordered except for the 1 I wore (obviously)and will update after I wear the new, bigger pairs. I expect them to be much more comfortable

This is my third pair of Jing Jing's, as I have the black and the taupe ones from a few years ago, so I thought I knew what I was getting. However, the style seems to have changed, as these were at least a half-size larger than my previous ones (and possibly a full size, given that my old shoes have probably stretched a little with wear). The style has also changed, meaning they are much wider, especially in the toe area, cover more of the foot on top, and come up higher at the back. The material is thicker and stiffer as well. Overall a heavier, bulkier, uglier shoe. This is a real shame, as the original Jing Jing was such a light, minimal, elegant-looking little ballet pump. Beware anyone thinking of buying these and expecting to get the same. Certainly there's no need to size up anymore as the sizing is much more generous.

I love these shoes. They're so comfortable and easy to wear. I've never had blisters in them. I have very sore feet and need to be careful what I wear so I buy these for everyday use and smart-casual office wear. The leather does stain so you need to be careful to keep them clean. However, they stay fresh unlike the other vegan barefoot pumps I have.

Great... But size up!

I usually wear anywhere from a 5.5-6.5 depending on the brand so I decided to roll the dice and get a size 6. They are a little bit small but that's because they are shipped rolled up. Once I wore them a few times, they confirmed a bit better to my feet. But I could not have gotten a size smaller, they are pretty much exactly the size of my foot. Im not too stoked about the lack of breathability, it's August and my feet sweat pretty bad in them. I'm going to put some thin insoles in them to try to keep them from getting so slippy and stinky. Other than that, I really like these alot. Keep in mind that they are almost like walking around with no shoes (ie no arch support, etc) so they're not for everyone. UPDATE: I bought a pair of cinnamon scented insoles off Amazon and the smelly feet problem has gone away. BUT they haven't stretched as much as I'd hoped. They fit, but I would highly suggest sizing up

I have bought several pairs of Vivobarefoot footwear in the past which I have loved but these are going back. Although they are my normal size and long enough, they are narrow fitting and tight round the toes, not allowing any room for the toes to spread, which should be one of the main features of 'barefoot' footwear. The uppers are man-made and rather thin so that the shape of the toes is visible. The colour is a lovely blue, which is why I was attracted to them. The sole feels good - nice and flexible and not too thick, allowing for good propriaception. Overall not impressive as a barefoot shoe unless perhaps for someone with very slim feet. But then there are plenty of cheaper narrow ballet flats which might be a better buy.

Not worn these type of shoes before, really wanted to like them but was disappointed. Felt back was pulling in and toes pulling up - I expect a pair that secures over the top of the foot would be more comfortable. Too expensive to take a chance wearing in so had to return.

I've had several pairs of these shoes in different colours and fabrics, but find that no two pairs are quite the same in sizing and style. These are definitely narrower and tighter than the black leather ones in the same style (and both are at least a full size bigger than the previous version). Hoping they will stretch a little with wear, as the next size up will probably be too big.Otherwise, they are a nice lightweight shoe for summer, if a bit more casual and sporty-looking than some of the previous styles (they will be OK with jeans/shorts, but the original Jing Jing was pretty and elegant enough to wear with a nice dress as well). Some consistency would be nice - I love the idea of these shoes, but it is impossible to know what you're going to get until they arrive!

The shoes look like in-house shoes. There is no insole. They are comfortable, but the size 8 is way too big for me, even though I normally wear 7.5, so I went with the recommendations and ordered a bigger size.

These fit me snugly without squeezing the toes together as is usually the case in most ballet flats. With other ballet flats, even if they don't feel tight, the big toe is pushed in somewhat at an angle. I'm trying to keep my toes properly aligned for stronger foot arches and these do the job perfectly.

I read the reviews on this shoe and as most complained about needing a larger size I ordered a 4 instead of my normal 3. I am very pleased with the fit and love the shoes. I will be buying more colours later. My back always feels better when I use barefoot shoes.

Great quality, they fit like a glove. I wear EU 37-38 depending on the brand, I chose 38 and they fit perfectly. I received them a week ago and I wore them every day since then. Although not leather, they look like it. Nice package too, with a little fabric bag for them. I bought them 50% off, so really a good deal, I will try to buy them in other colours too.

As advised on barefoot communities I sized up at least one size but they were still pinchy and uncomfortable so I gave them away. If you can get the sizing right the protect itself is very well made from quality materials and looks attractive.

I normally wear size 5.5 and size 6 was good to me so I think it runs a half size small. Vivobarefoot dont make half sizes which turned out to be a good thing. Size 6 fits perfectly.
