Nice, but....

I love the bag. The color, the size, the material all what I wanted. however it pills across the front and back really bad. Very disappointed this is happening . Makes purse look old and used. I don't like that this is happening, especially for the money I paid for it.
Two problems

I purchased this Carson bag in the denim gray. The pattern is pretty, and I actually like the denim material. I didn't know if I would. The material is stiff, but that works in the bags favor as it gives the bag structure. So many of VB's new bags are floppy and formless because they have no sturdy base anymore. This material is firm, but that firmness causes an issue with the strap. The long strap is stiff and is hard to convert. The long strap is also very thin and cheaply made. The purse itself is heavy, and I don't see the strap lasting. The short strap is too wide, and too short. I can barely get it over my shoulder and wear a size 12 shirt.The other issue with the bag is the metal zipper. It is very sharp and hangs when I close it. It doesn't open wide either so I have to be careful not to scratch myself when getting into the bag. I have been trying to support VB with their new changes, but I cannot waste anymore of my time and money on their products. I used to buy a VB bag and not blink an eye at it. Bags in the past were well made, comfortable and highly functional. Ever since the "iconic" line was introduced I have seen nothing but a parade of cheap, poorly made and conceived of "updates" to old styles. I can only assume these changes are to cut costs and it shows.I am returning this bag for two reasons. One, the cheap, useless straps, and two, the ugly metal zipper that does not belong on cotton/denim products.

This bag is wonderfully made, but sadly it was just too large for me for everyday use. I do have several of the mini Carson shoulder bag which I love a lot.

Too bulky

For my preference it was to bulky. Maybe in a different fabric it would have worked. I actually wanted the mini but was too late in getting ordered and its out of stock
The right size cross body bag at last!

I love the Denim Navy Carson bag. It looks just as good with a black J Peterman travel dress as it does an old pair of jeans and a sweater. Itâs just the right size too. Big enough for all the essentials and a few extras but not so big everything falls to the bottom.
