Missing some features to be my daily go-to bag
Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2020
This is a nice bag but is missing some features that I want in my daily go-to bag. What I do like -I really like the look of this bag, especially in the green. It's a shade of army green that goes with most other color and works for all seasons. The fabric is a matte cotton blend that seems pretty durable. I like the leather detailing on the straps. It gives it a mix of sporty and professional. The front pocket has a soft grey thick jersey pocket that fits my phone. I also like the key cord and that it is bright orange so you can find them quickly. What I don't prefer -I don't find that it is very easy to find things in this bag. The interior is dark and there are no interior pockets. If you're also carrying around chapstick, hand sanitizer, wallet, etc., they're just loose in the main compartment of the small one on the front. You also cannot remove the tote strap if not in use. Lastly, I find the metal top zipper to be sticky. Each time I open and close it, it sticks somewhere along the way and never glides smoothly all the way across. This is not an all in one for me and is mostly a supplement to a purse or another bag.I use it as a work bag to transport my laptop, notebook, etc.. It would likely make a good carry on bag, especially with the side access to the computer.
Well made; Handy as a daily bag or carry-on

This bag is so well designed. You can take the backpack straps off if you want and just use the tote strap as a hand strap or extend it for a shoulder strap. (It canât be extended long enough to be a crossbody strap.) The internal padded sleeve can accommodate either 13-inch or 15-inch laptops, depending on which way you load them. There is a key holder. The external pocket is padded and can fit an e-reader or a smaller tablet. It also has an additional felted pocket inside for your phone. There is no dedicated sleeve or holder for a water bottle, but you could hang one from the D-rings if you have a clip holder for the bottle. The construction and look are terrific. It wonât be for all tastes, but I like the army green color, especially with the small orange highlights. The zippers and D-rings are metal, and the rings are very well secured with heavy-duty nylon straps securely sewn on. All the seams are solid and the material (50/50 nylon/cotton) feels good and is substantial.Although this is meant to be more of a daily bag, it works well as a travel carryon. It fits my laptop, e-reader, iPhone Plus, bag of chargers and back-up power supply, sunglasses case, meds, a book or two, a snack bag, and a memory foam travel pillow.
Great versatile backpack/tote/shoulder bag tote - not gender specific

This is a sturdy unisex backpack/tote/shoulder bag in Army green (olive green). It is attractively made in a color and design which could be for any gender. I could see this being used by a city bicycle commuter who would put most work items in it to get to and from work. Or, a dad or mom to use as a diaper bag. Or a student who needs room for laptop and/or tablets plus books. Or it could be useful for errands and shopping. It is made well with adjustable and removable straps to add to its versatility. Not sure about the water-repellency but it feels like the material that could do that. This is a little pricey for a K through 12 student, but sure for a college student.I was almost able to put my 17â laptop (measured screen diagonally) in the top opening. That would be the max though. I didnât try to zip it in the bag but it had that much capacity. It has several âpocketsâ inside and out. Nice quilted stitching on the outer pocket to give it more style. This bag comes highly recommended for a serviceable portable carry-all for anybody. Vine Voice Review.
Great design, wonderful military vibe, very well made.

I love this tote. I would really have loved it back in the old days when I was living on base and my dad was active duty. It has a great military vibe to it but it's totally girly and soft. We have many Timbuk2 bags, briefs, duffles and even luggage. This bag displays all of the high quality craftsmanship we have come to expect from them. There are compartments to help you keep organized. The side entry compartment will take up to a 15 inch laptop - it's very generous and designed to offer you the protection you need for light duty. There are some thin backpack straps to use if you need them.
Hard to overstate how stylish and cute this is

While I had a good impression of the Timbuk2 brand prior to picking up this shoulder bag tote, this really cemented my idea of this is a high-end urban brand. I love all of the beautiful little styling touches, from the stitching pattern on the front pocket, to the somewhat soft but extremely sturdy material used, to the comfortable and effective zippers, all the way to the straps, which on so many tote bags are frankly awful, but on this are comfortable and sturdy. The styling is phenomenal. It immediately upgrades my all-black or charcoal outfits into something a little extra cool and the little bit of army green is a nice touch against the colors I usually wear. I couldn't be more impressed by the quality of manufacture, and the cool factor of the design.
a disappointment for Timbuk2

The materials of the bag itself is high quality like most Timbuk2 bags, but the interior is too dark which makes it hard to find things. The top strap is not adjustable and it can't be removed. The main compartment opening is too small, given the space inside--it makes it hard to put large things in (and take them out). The backpack straps are a little hard to adjust, and it would be better if they attached to the rings with clips, rather than belt-buckle type fasteners for easier adjustment and convertibility.Overall, this bag looks good but is more difficult to use than it should be.
Good looking, easy to carry

I have been looking for a purse to replace my Coach grandma purse. The problem is the number of small grandchildren and children things I carry as well as my simple wallet and my own things I need.I wish this had a few more pockets inside. But it is stylish and that makes up for a lot.I was not a fan of the backpack straps on it but these came off easily enough. I can't imagine wanting them back on, so just trashed them. I carry a purse and sometimes a backpack, but never the one as both.
