Love these jeans. I am 5'4, 201lbs, more tummy than I like. I bought size 16a and they fit perfect. Do not go by the picture. They fit so much better than shown. They are not leggings. The legs are fitted but not too snug to look 'tacky'. I have had them about a month. Washed several times. No shrinkage. So comfortable. Sit at my waist just the way I like them. I do not like the low rise pants. I ordered 2 of the medium denim. I went back and ordered a pair in the black and tan. I would like to have the light denim but it isn't listed. I have been losing some weight and plan on ordering a couple of 14a for encouragement! They would probably fit now but maybe a little to tight for my liking. I highly recommend this pants. The reviews I read that said they were leggings I think where purchased too small. Also , the leggings I have gotten are a lot thinner and of a different fabric. I think the weight is perfect. Not so heavy they take forever to dry and also not too thin. The length on me is a little longer than in the pic, which I also like. Without shoes they hit the floor. However, I like them to his the top of my shoes with a little to spare and they do just that. I hope Chic will continue to make these and Amazon will continue to carry them. So many times I find something I really like but find it has been discontinued or changed. I am ordering a couple more just for that reason! By the way, I an 73 years old. Don't be afraid to get these if you are as ancient as I am!! They are not 'teen 'jeans. I wear long tops, blouses, tunics to cover my aging belly so these look no different than Jeans with the zipper/button that take forever to squeeze into and I find very uncomfortable at my age. Now that I think about it they never were comfortable!! Hope this helps you make a decision to give these a try. I spend hours looking at products and depend a lot on reviews that I am never sure sho really wrote them. This review is an honest assessment of these pants by someone that doesn't usually write reviews. However, I am so happy I found these I wanted to share with others that may be looking for that perfect fit, too.

Thank God I found these- I've been looking for these for forever! My mom, who's older, will only wear this brand & this style jeans. The one pair she has left, still look good, & they're over 10 years old! Needless to say, she needed new ones, but I hadn't been able to find this style. She wears a petite size twelve- she's 5'2" & has a long torso- these fit her just right. She's very particular, but these are the same style she bought for years & was so pleased I found some more! I bought 3 pairs- I may have to buy a few more, just in case! Thank you for such an Excellent product- you have 2 fans for life!!!

I love these jeans! As a vertically challenged person, I have trouble finding jeans that aren't too long. And I like to wear elastic waist jeans to work as I site for 8 hours with only a couple of breaks. Zip jeans bind after a couple of hours. Other elastic waist jeans have too wide a band & the roll and bind after a while. These jeans fit perfectly, especially the length.

First, let me make clear that this review might not be for everyone, but as a previous reviewer mentioned the waist or elastic securing the waist is too tight. I am thin, but have digestive issues thus the reason I am seeking an elastic waist; however, this one is too tight. Having said that, this is a very well made pair of jeans so I decided to do a little adjusting. I cut about 1/4 inch of the sewing off the waist band (where the elastic is) with a seam ripper and cut the elastic all the way through (about 1/2 inch). It is securely sewn around so I was not worried about it completely unraveling. As I said before these pants are surprisingly well made. I made this same cut on the other side and one in the back. I stopped there and am waiting to see if after a washing I am still comfortable with my cuts...I can always add more later. I used red thread to sew the little open seam that I made so I can see where I cut before. No one will see the red thread as I have to wear longer blouses to cover the elastic waist anyways. It really only took a few minutes to make the cuts and probably added another inch or more to my waist. Now I can wear jeans again!
Strong chemical smell

This is the first review I've written on any of my Amazon purchases but I feel the need to share what happened with my purchase. I already had 3 pairs of these jeans and because of the perfect fit and comfort of the material I ordered a pair in black denim. I tried them on, the fit of these is a little different than my other pairs, looser in the lower leg but still a nice fit. They had a strong chemical smell right out of the package . I washed them in cold water with my regular routine and tumbled in the dryer. I wore them for a half hour until the chemical smell became too strong to tolerate. Washed and dried them again, hung them out to air. The chemical smell is slightly better but it is still there. Right now they're soaking in baking soda in the washing machine to try to remove this odor. If that doesn't work I've heard vinegar may help. If the cause is formaldehyde in the material or from the black dye, I do not want to be exposed to whatever is causing the smell. I will not wear them if I can't get rid of the chemical smell. Hoping for the best!
These are leggings not jeans

I ordered two pairs - when I opened the package I could see that BOTH were labeled as "leggings". I tried one pair on and they were indeed leggings - very fitted/tight legs from crotch to ankle. I see now - reading other reviews - that other people noticed fit issues and questioned "are these leggings?" Yes - even though nothing in the product description says so - yes they are. I returned both pairs. FIX THIS PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PLEASE.

Jeans are difficult to find for older folks, but these jeans are perfect. Great fit and really like the stretch elastic waist - not easy to find anymore. They fit so good, am going to order another pair.

Looks ok but I was hoping the 18 was actually bigger as this is often the case. I am a 20-22 but this is a real 18. Material not great but seems quite strong so I think it will last well.

Very pleased with these pants. Glad I ordered "average", petite would have been much too short. The rise is a bit long but with the cotton content in these pants, I think they should fit about right after I wash them.They are not heavyweight for winter but also are light enough to wear in summer. A good overall compromise.The fabric is not stiff but quite soft and flexible even prior to washing.Further, about sizing, I chose these pants for the stretch fabric as well as the elasticized waist. They fit me nicely, my waist is quite small in proportion to my hips. I just ordered one size larger than usual and I don't have tightness in the hips or a gaping waistband like I often have to deal with.Hope this helps someone.

These are really great pull on pants. Quality is excellent and the price so good. I have these in denim blue and black. Im 5â3â and they just cover my ankle. I am very pleased with them and have washed and dryer several times with great results.

They fit quite snug, it seems short in the crotch. BUT this is my fault, have gained weight, now I wear them so when I decide to have a snack I feel them tight, so no snack. The fabric is great, looks the same as my $50 pairs. Just ordered a size larger so will be back to give a review on them. If they fit I will only buy these. Yes I would highly recommend these

I bought two pair for work and they fit perfectly. I found them at first to be a heavy type fabric and a little like canvas. I have washed them and they turned out perfect.... I hang to dry as I don't want them to shrink. Perfect pants.

Ordered these in size 14 jeans for my disabled Mother who is normally a size 14. These fit more like a size 10-12 . Have packaged them up and sent them back.

These jeans are just what I was looking for. I wanted a pair of comfortable jeans for "everyday" wear and they are perfect. They did not shrink after washing. I will definitely order another pair or two.
