Not for everyday but...

I had hoped this could be my everyday bag but it's way too small for that. Instead I use it for concerts, casino visits, and because it's easy to fill, some special occasions like a last minute dinners out or visiting.It's a very light, easy to carry bag and I've used it both as a shoulder bag (it's a little slippy for me that way) and a cross body (have to lengthen the strap but it's fine) and it's great either way.It's easy to wipe clean (concert floors are notoriously dirty) and it can work for dressy or casual occasions. I do not like the inside "waterfall pockets" as they droop and aren't really handy for holding much securely but the inside zipper pocket is good for small items and the inside space is big enough for my wallet, (point and shoot) camera, gum, lipstick, cell phone, various odds and ends, tissue, pens, paper. The outside pocket is great for small flat items.If they made this style in a slightly bigger bag I'd definitely buy it. It feels durable, the straps, doubled or lengthened feel strong, and it adds no weight at all to the items you carry inside it.
Ordered 2 because I loved previous identical one...both have manufacturing defects on inside zippered pock..essentially seconds

Ordered 2 and moved all my "stuff" from my identical old Blue bag. Then couldn't figure out why the small zippered pocket on the "back" side wasn't closed after zipping it. Turns out, one side of the zipper is not sewn to the silver liner and thus...does not zip...is still OPEN. Since a got a second one as back up (black color seems to be getting scarce), I figured that one would be fine & I could return the "bad" bag. but NO. It has the same defect. If I didn't already have one of these correctly made, I might not realize there is a problem. I don't know how to resolve... if I send back to get replacements, I figure they are likely to be the same and there is now way via Amazon that I know of to communicate directly to find out if all inventory is defective... maybe just hand stitch myself??? VERY disappointed and feel "seconds" are being passed off here. Beware.

If you are looking for a petite, stylish purse, this is the choice for you. I had bought my first Catskill handbag at a store in downtown Chicago, but unfortunately lost it at my university. I was so pleased with my first purchase that I just had to buy the exact same purse to replace it. This shoulder bag is great for both casual and formal occasions. The material is very durable and even slightly water resistant, yet sleek and stylish. The purse is very comfortable to wear, and does not slip down my shoulder like other similar-sized purses do. Though it appears small, it is surprisingly roomy on the inside -- I was able to fit a large wallet and change purse, a Blackberry cell phone, an inhaler, and a pair sunglasses inside of it with room to spare. The color of the purse, described as Taupe in the description, was a bit darker than it appeared on my computer screen, but this just makes it look even better in professional settings. Delivery was prompt and professional.

This is my 7th Ameribag I think, I bought a brown microfiber Catskill line for a trip a few years back and about worn it out. I needed black anyway so I tried this. I'm not going to say it fits everything, it is very much for the essentials and nothing more. That said, it is way better for your shoulders & back not to haul around so much stuff. The key pocket with clip.is an Ameribag trademark, love this feature, keeps me from searching for lost car keys. It has the inside pocket dividers for cell phone, bigger ones for pens, lipstick, etc. I love how light and sleek yet have everything I need. I love the Better Back Bags but the teardrop shapes aren't the best for putting on the floor or a chair, they fall over, strap tangles on chair leg or my leg. The Catskill bags sit upright and don't flop over. If you want to downscale, give this model a try. If you can't part with carrying most of your stuff with you, this isn't the bag for you.
Great bag, but NOT cross-body

This bag is miscategorized by Amazon as cross body. The strap is way too short for that. But I'm not going to mark down the bag just because it's in the wrong category. The construction feels very solid. The size is just right to fit credit cards, tin of mints, checkbook, pocket tissues, lip stuff, smartphone, a deck of cards, and a bag of dice. Except for the length of the strap, it's an ideal bag for me.

I like small hand bags and ordered this one knowing it was the same size as my currently bag, just a bit larger..or so I thought. When I received the bag I really liked the fabric and the adjustable strap, however the inside was so small with small lttle compartments. I sent it back, but will look for another AmeriBag

Look,I hate these review things but if you insist...I bought this bag because of the size and color. I already own one and regret not buying both when they were on sell. This is a great size for travel and easily fits into a small carry-on suitcase if needed. It has several pockets for easy access and it is pretty much weather proof.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Smaller compact size that I can use for most any occasion. Really like the outside zippers, and inside pockets. It is also perfect for travel. It fits into my larger carry-on which helps organize my "stuff." It is very well made and the zipper's have a big enough dingle bopper to grab on to.
