Just what I needed

When I went for my pre-op appointments for my mastectomy and realized I would have to deal with the drains somehow, I asked my doctor & nurses for suggestions. They said there was nothing that they knew of and I should pin them to a lanyard for taking showers, with no suggestions for the rest of the time. So of course I had to check on Amazon and found this super cool product to manage the drains. They worked very well and in the hospital all of the doctors and nurses who took care of me post-op were impressed and surprised that this product exists. I hope they remember this for future patients! Now I would like to find a place to donate it since it is barely used and I was able to machine wash the pouches.

worked as described

Although the price seems a bit expensive for what it is, I really liked this product and used both the belt and the mesh pocket the whole time I had my drains in. The belt was actually very comfortable and didn't bother me at all during the night. I actually liked having a belt better than having my drains in a shirt pocket. Made me feel like they were closer to my body with less chance they would accidentally get tugged on. The pockets move around on the belt so sometime I had to adjust the location but that was good too, depending on how I was sitting or lying down. The mesh bag was good for bathing/showering with the drains. Put it behind me around my neck.

These proved to be useful after my bilateral mastectomy. They are made with breathable fabric and are adjustable. I had 4 drains and two fit inside one pocket. The shower drain holder was very useful, too. I like that it is adjustable as well. They’re easy to wash and air-dry.

So Helpful and Secures drainage tubes so well.

I'm on day 2 of being home from the hospital and had come home with the tubes pinned to my shirt, which pull on the shirt more and more as the collection balls fill up. Pinned they can catch on things, mine caught on the edge on the table when I was standing up and that's when I switched over to this. I have very sensitive skin but the elastic the softer kind and you can adjust the belt easily. The pockets also move, and today I'm wearing the holster style ("pistol packing Mama") , and it's nice to be able to maneuver them to your comfort. They feel so much more secure on the belt and 2 drainage bulbs fit into each pocket. Got the go ahead to have a very quick shower today, but it's still early and I haven't, but the mesh bag is gonna be wonderful bc what else would you do to prevent them just hanging, which you can't do? I'm so glad I got this set and will order one for someone who will be starting this journey in a month.

Very nice garment to help me manage after a mastectomy

I wanted a way to discreetly hide the drains needed during the first couple of weeks after my mastectomy. These items for under $25 have been so helpful! Easy on, easy off! I find the soft pink color (pouches) comforting, and the stretchy belt easily fits my XL waist. I wore this belt and pouch setup home from the hospital. At shower time, I wear the other bag around my neck, so my hands are free. Neither of these setups irritate my tender incision. Quite worth the price.

The best post-surgery accessory

These were A++ rated by the family member I gifted them to who was recovering from a double mastectomy and reconstruction. She loved that they came with a shower caddy so she could wash her hair independently, and also loved that the two pouches weren't connected (unlike some other post-mastectomy aprons) so she could adjust them depending on where her drains were and where was the most comfortable. They also allowed her to get back to "normal" clothes sooner and just add this on, instead of buying a ton of specific post-mastectomy clothing, and allowed her to be somewhat mobile and not worry about dragging her drains around or accidentally disconnecting one. Definitely recommend if you are having surgery, or as a thoughtful gift for a family member who might not think to get one for themselves.

Must have purchase for holding surgical drains while showering

TM

I like that I can either wear it around my neck or waist to hold my drains so that I can shower. The netted material dries fast when you hang it up over the shower head or on a door knob. My only complaint is this has 2 pockets, and I had 3 drains so I had a hard time putting two drains into one of the pockets. It would be great if the pockets were a little larger or if there were 3 pockets. Regardless, I used this every time I showered, and it made the task much easier. This is a must have purchase.

Best product for post surgery drains!

Best product for post surgery drains! I am so happy I bought this set before my surgery. The belt with sacks can hold two drain bulbs each; so four total. I normally wear a size XXL and wear this belt as far as it will adjust. However, as you can see in the pictures, it can still stretch pretty far. The belt is very soft and comfortable. I do not have problems with the buckle digging into my skin, in fact I have never felt the buckle. The mesh shower lanyard hangs from your neck and can be adjusted to hang to your waist or at your chest. The strap is soft and does not irritate the skin when you are showing. The mesh sac has two pockets that can fit two drain bulbs each; so four total.Seriously the best thing you can buy to manage your drains. These have made life SO much easier. I have been using them for 3.5 weeks now, the belt 24/7, excluding showers, and the product shows no sign of wear.
