It is nice and soft. I was comfortable in 39 degree temps. Great for going from house to car and car to store, etc. It kept me warm while allowing my arms freedom that a bulky winter coat does not. I am 5'9 and the length came about a hand length below my butt. The down side is when the wind is whipping, it blows right in the shorter more open sides, in which case you freeze. It has a nice professional , more "expensive" look.
