I tested this coat on a Fall Chicago morning (i.e. 30 degrees early morning; 50 degrees by noon). It is fine for a 50 degree day but not a Midwest winter. It is very thin and the arms have almost no fill. The quality is poor as it sheds continuously and the zipper is very cheap. At this price point, there are better options. Positives are that the cut is flattering for a tall woman of average weight.

I read every single review on every site including the Columbia site prior to purchase from amazon. The amazon price was $80 less than Columbia site, so couldnât be beat with free 2 day Prime shipping. I received the delivery today. The box was not completely sealed. But the inner plastic packaging was intact. This is my 4th Columbia coat- 2nd with TurboDown and 2nd with âOmni heatâ. The OmniHeat is no joke. It will have you sweating if you have on too many layers underneath even in 9 degree Chicago temps plus windchill. My non-down Omni Heat coat also had me sweating in 20 degree temps since I had a sweater underneath. So I decided to give this one a try. It is basically the same as the regular length coat, except less down fill (550 vs. 700 on my previous one). The sleeves also donât have the extra wrist closure (canât think of the word). Otherwise, the fit was perfect with a size Large. I am 5â2â and 175 lbs. This coat comes little longer than mid thigh. I can easily zip the coat with room underneath for maybe 2-3 thin layers. My usual size is 10-12. There were some other reviews complaining about the sleeves. My regular length coat is also a large and the sleeves are not as long on this one, but fit just right. The hood is also a fair size. Not enough to block wind on your forehead, but fits my big hair underneath.

I have tried on A LOT of Columbia Coats and usually get a Large. This style is tight in the armpits. I ordered the BLUE HERON and it is more a muted navy than a turquoise like the model is wearing. (For some reason the pictures I took also make it a brighter blue than it is in person too.) ORDER UP! I do like the 590 puff for extra warmth compared to Columbia's Mighty Lite Jacket.

I have returned this coat, as I ordered a extra large, reading past reviews. I'm 5'0, weigh about 150, there was a lot of room for layers, but also the sleeves were way too long. I loved the color, and inside futuristic silver lining, but it just didn't work for my body type. I gave it a 4 stars, cuz it's a nice design of a coat, for a taller leaner person, with long arms! :0-when will I recieve my refund? I'm still waiting..*Update- I did recieve my refund, company was coropative.
Good winter coat

I am a person who is very cold during winter and wanted a winter coat that it's not heavy and bulky and that it doesn't shred feathers. I was afraid about becoming an angel after using this coat (specially after seeing the reviews in here) but so far it doesn't seem to lose feathers. It's a thin coat but very very warm, I was out a couple of days ago in below zero Celsius and it kept me warm. I was wearing a thin t-shirt and thin sweater underneath the coat and I was super warm. I like the color which is a dark violet or something. I'm not too happy with the hood that you can't tight so if it's windy it will not stay put on your head. It's long enough, I'm 5'5 and it goes a little below my knees, which is perfect for me. I love it so far. I will give updates for the feather situation, but so far it didn't lost any.
Zipper Issues but OK Coat

I "like" this coat - it's warm and you can move in it - my one big "meh": The zipper is fickle, it has the double zip so you can un-zip the bottom a little and that's the one that causes me issues about every other time I wear it. For the price I would think the zipper would be higher quality, I'm assuming I'll need to replace it sooner rather than. I have the rain coat also and the same zipper set-up and it does the SAME thing. So lesson learned on Columbia coats.

This jacket is very light which I love, great for driving and traveling but not as warm as I had hoped. It's more of a fall/early winter jacket. Would not be my go to in our Toronto -20C winter temperatures. I ended up getting an 860 turbo down fill jacket from Columbia and that's what I have been using lately now that it's colder. It fits true to size, I'm 122 lbs and ordered the small and I can wear a winter sweater comfortably with it. My one pet peeve about this jacket is the zipper as it is a little flimsy. The material is nice and soft. All in all I really like the jacket, I didn't rate it a 5 because Columbia markets it as a winter jacket but I feel it's more of a fall jacket as it's not warm enough for really cold weather.
Coat very thin and not warm

This coat is extremely thin and not very warm. (Was wearing in the high 20's, sunny with light wind.) The wind goes right through it. The zipper is also very finicky. I had another Columbia Omni Heat coat that I liked very much but this coat is a major disappointment. If I hadn't cut the tags off it so I could wear it outside to try it out, I would be returning it.

The coat is very light. The fit is very good, but the zipper is of low quality. The zipper doesnt work well; it works once in 10 times. I expected the jacket not to lose any padding, but from the very first day the down continously comes out. I disliked the zipper and the loss of padding, but the fit and omni heat was great. Columbia should be using high quality zippers; because of this issue I will be leaving out 2 stars. For fit references, I am 115lbs and fit s small.

M was a little too snug, in case I wanted to wear a thicker sweater... return was quick ans easy!!L is roomy, ans nice and warm... love its length when going on my daily walks with my dogs.

J'attend le temps propice pour le porter. J'ai hâte de voir à quel point ce manteau est chaud. La grandeur est comme je la prends d'habitude. Très satisfaite pour le moment.
