Wore this to Yellowstone National Park in December with long shirt underneath. I was very warm. The jacket is of high quality and the pockets are nice. There is a hood and nice snow bib inside the bottom of jacket. Lots of zipper pockets as well. I am 150 lbs and this large was perfect size as I wanted a little extra space for a fleece underneath. The medium I originally ordered fit but was too tight for a fleece underneath.

Update 12/04/19Still the best winter coat everUPDATE: 11/13/18Iâve now had this jacket for over three years and I still love it! Itâs perfect for snowboarding and Marylandâs unpredictable weather. Itâs stayed in great condition and itâs got so many pockets that I forget I put âemergency underwearâ in there once...Old review:This is the best winter jacket I've ever bought! I did a lot of research as a first time Columbia customer and considering they had a lot to choose from. I saw some reviews saying they run small but as a 5'3" 120lb female who's regularly XS, the same size fits perfectly and I can wear several layers underneath with a snug fit.I've only had this for 2 months and so far it has lasted me through the 3 feet snow in Maryland and single digit temperatures. I plan on going snowboarding with it as well.Best features about this jacket is that it has a feminine fit without being bulky, more pockets than I've ever needed, waterproof, and the "thumb hole thingy on the hand" that keeps your wrist warm and doesn't let cold air seep in.

I love this jacket, it is pretty warm for how lightweight it is and looks great. I agree with some other reviewers that it seems to keep you warmer when you are being active as opposed to when you are just standing or sitting somewhere. It has great wind protection and is waterproof. I wore it in 30 degree temperatures with a sweater underneath and was warm enough. I also agree that it runs a bit small. I am 5'7 137 pounds and ordered a large which I think fits perfectly. I have room to layer underneath comfortably but it doesn't feel too big with just a t-shirt underneath.

I got this for the wife for Christmas. I've had the Men's version of this jacket for a couple of years, and I think this is the best all-around ski jacket for the money. The Women's fit is shapely, and looks great, but the fit is a slightly small, as she ended up preferring the larger size to make sure if has room to move freely and include room for a fleece and bib pants and more space around the neck/face when fully zipped-up.Detachable hood (which fits over a helmet if needed), powder skirt, interior pockets for gloves/goggles, wrist liner with thumb holes, perfect-size waterproof pocket for phone, and a tiny sleeve pocket which is good for a key or some money or the newer electronic lift-tickets. Durable nylon with a cool texture pattern. Lightweight but very warm with the little silver dots, and the perfect weight for layering with a fleece. And a great price! Love it.

I am petite at 5'2" and 110 lbs, and normally wear an XS but in this coat I got a Small. I work at a dog daycare in the Seattle area and needed a coat to keep me warm and dry, yet also have the ability to layer if I need to (in the winter I definitely do). The coat keeps me extremely warm, I just wish the hood had a fleece lining or something of the sort; it's the same material as the entire rest of the coat. I do love that the inside of the pocket have the soft inside, though.If it wasn't for my job and the fact that I am outside for most of the day, I definitely would have ordered an XS, otherwise the Small is perfect if you need it for long periods of time and want to layer.Overall I am extremely happy with this coat! It is excellent quality, and I like that it's actually semi-fitted and shaped to fit my body. I am expecting it to last me quite a long time (although with dogs frequently jumping up to greet me it may not last as long as someone who uses it for hiking or other outdoor activities), and when it does decide to fall apart, I will definitely buy another!

I am 5"2 , 119 lbs and I purchased size S which fit me perfectly. I wanted a jacket with the high neck but when I zipped it all the way to the top, it was so tight and stiff as though I was wearing a neck brace. I couldn't even turn my head. I went to Columbia store to consult with the sales people and also tried on similar versions of this jacket but I had the same result. Everyone there agreed that the neckline was so tight on me and it's too bad because I like this type of jackets. I am a loyal Columbia customer and I think Columbia must have designed this jacket for those women with long thin necks only. I wonder if the people who wrote the reviews did not try to zip the jacket up all the way because nobody mentioned it. I rarely write reviews but I do this time so other people can take this into consideration when buying.

I am 5'2" and 115lbs with measurements of 34B-26-36 and I bought a SMALL. I normally always wear XS but I wanted some room to layer. This coat is beautiful with the tiniest bit of detail in the fabric which adds depth to the black. The fit was fantastic; an XS would have been too tight for me to wear much more than a base layer.Great range of motion! The main zipper is covered which protects it from wind or water getting in. The sleeve cuffs keep cold air out even when you're not wearing them! The detachable hood is a good size; I wore a CC Beanie under it no problem. The fleece lined collar on the inside is HEAVENLY. I love all of the extra pockets to carry my wallet, phone, snacks, ect. The bottom of the coat hits just below my hips.It looks nice enough that I can wear it to work when I give clients tours! It also keep me warm when I take my dog for long walks. So far the coldest weather I have worn it in has been 30F and it has been so warm!

Love the colour, love the quality, love the styling details and best of all it fits like a dream. Good length too, just below the bum. So warm and snug in the cold and yet waterproof and breathable when the weather gets wetter and warmer. Especially love the integrated hand warmers in contrasting navy. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

Love this jacket! Bought it for a winter hiking trip and it was perfect! Countless pockets are super useful. And although the jacket is really warm, you're not stewing in your sweat when you get active.

As previously mentioned the jacket looks a little greener than the pic, however partner loves the fit and looks like a very good jacket for the price. Time will tell when used in anger at the end of the month. Good range of pockets including one in the arm for the ski pass.

Best winter jacket ever. Living in London, I needed a jacket that could keep me warm and safe from the rain. I used it for at least 6 months. It has tons of pockets, it's incredibly durable and it looks pretty good. I recommend 100%.I haven't tried it for skiing yet but it's exactly the same material as my previous skiing jacket so I believe it will be perfect for that too.

This jacket is superb. Bought ahead of a four day weeeknd skiing in France. One day was chucking down rain - this coat (for my wife) outperformed my very high end coat in those conditions. Flexible, warm and high quality throughout.

This jacket is perfect for the weather in UK. It keeps me warm when its cold and windy, and when it starts to rain, it keeps me dry with its waterproof feature. The fit is just right for me as I based it on the sizing chart, and the active fit makes it conform to your figure. Not too big, just enough that you can add nother layer under it. It's my go to jacket for almost anything. I absolutely love it!
