frumpy ?

I'm 6ft 160lbs ordered a L in Rabbit purple or whatever color they want to call this. its a neutral, darker-than-the-product-photo lavender.L is a little roomy, sleeves are huge. Its not as chic as I was hoping. Some Northface stuff looks amazing; ready for office, meeting, yoga, hiking...all in 1 jacket. This really isn't that.I'm a L and it fits well, just feels frumpy. Going to think on it one more day before I decide to keep, return or exchange.
Well made, a bit stiff, size up if you're unsure.

A very well-made softshell, as you would expect from North Face. This would be great for hiking, backpacking, or running in temperatures as low as the 20s to 40s Fahrenheit, depending of course on how hot your body runs and what you have on underneath the jacket. The fleece lining is very soft.Overall, because of the outside layer, the jacket is a bit stiff, but that's what makes it wind and water resistant. The water resistance is pretty good. I wouldn't wear it in the pouring rain and expect to stay bone dry, but for light rain or splashes, liquid rolls right off. I only found the stiffness to be a problem when I zipped it all the way up, and the collar was then bonking my chin.People have complained that the sleeves are long. Yes, they are a tad long. But that's on purpose. They're cut asymmetrically so that the sleeve is supposed to cover some or all of your hand, which makes sense when you consider that you'd be wearing this jacket in cold to very cold weather. I guess if you're wearing this jacket and need to work with your hands a lot, that could be annoying, but otherwise it's actually a nice feature.I found sizing for this to be tricky. I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, with an athletic build (think running/rock climbing), 34A bra size. According to North Face's size chart, I should be a small. I could fit the small, but when I wore a long-sleeved merino wool base layer underneath, the arms and shoulders were quite tight. My range of motion was impeded a bit, e.g., I couldn't reach forward all the way/give myself a hug. I highly doubt I would be able to layer a fleece underneath; the size small probably wouldn't zip up if I tried. The waist and hips were nicely fitted but not body-hugging like the arms and shoulders. If you're in between sizes or just like a slightly roomier fit, I'd size up.
Very Sleek!

I didnât think this would fit since Iâm currently on a weightloss journey, BUT IT DOES! Itâs very form fitting and is definitely a bit snug at the waist and it wouldnât fit with a thicker shirt underneath, but itâs very warm so I doubt Iâll need anything but a thin/light shirt underneath. Also, Iâm 5â6â, 175lbs, and wear a 38B cup. If youâre more blessed in the chest you may struggle getting the zipper over your girls.
Great Jacket - Love Northface Product

I'm petite and 5'1 and have the hardest time finding clothes (especially jackets) that fit me. The sleeves are still a little large on me but everything else fits perfect. I have this same jacket in white and love it. I live in the south where it isn't cold often, but on days when temperatures have been in the 20s, I've been fine. Can't feel the wind at all and I love the extra chest zipper pocket for credit cards or chapstick.
Good product but careful with the size

Good quality but fitted too large. I am usually S in US shirts sizes but was afraid to have it fit too tight. There was a fee to exchange this for an S size but thought it was worth it as the material dues keep out rain and wind. I recommend this product but, if possible, recommend going to a store and try the sizes first or, if undecided between two sizes, go for the smaller size.
Good jacket overall, but far from perfect.

The good: I bought this to replace my old standard fleece North Face jacket, and it is definitely an upgrade. It keeps me warm and dry, and is the perfect jacket for a mild to moderate winter. It is mostly waterproof, but I haven't tested it in a steady rain for longer than 15-20 minutes. The zippers all have excellent construction, and the sewing and seams are strong and neat. The not so good: This jacket restricts my upper body and shoulder motion A LOT. It's fine for hiking and just being out, but any kind of outdoor labor (like chopping wood) is virtually impossible. This is not the all-purpose jacket you're looking for. Most of all, I am SUPER disappointed in how quickly the interior cuffs have worn. The sleeves are extra long and partially cover my hands, and the cuff is lined with a soft jersey/fleece type fabric. I have owned this jacket three months, worn it maybe 20 times, and these cuffs are A MESS. They pill, wear poorly, and get caught on my jewelery and fingernails all the time. I love the idea of a soft lining near the hands but this stuff really missed the mark.
The medium fits perfect with a shirt but not sure if I would ...

I ordered a medium. I am usually a small but decided to go up a size to wear hoodies. I should have went with a large. The medium fits perfect with a shirt but not sure if I would wear a hoodie with this. I don't think I would need to seeing as though this is extremely warm. So glad I purchased this.
Great for our desert winters!

Love this jacket. Got one size larger than usual so I could wear numerous layers underneath If I want and itâs perfect. Love the felt lined tall collar that you can tuck your chin into without scratching your face. Actually love that the entire jacket is lined and soft. The length is perfect at just below the hips. Outer material is super wind resistant. It is a bit stiff at first, which didnât really bother me, but itâs starting to soften up anyway. Great for our desert winter, especially being able to layer, but probably not warm enough for winter in places with real winters.
