Great price for this vest, but size down!

I was looking for a warm, tough vest, and found this vest on Amazon for much less than I would pay for it elsewhere, and in great colors! I ordered the purple, and I love the color which is a very nice, bright purple. The vest is tough, like all Carhart products and has plenty of pockets. It is also warm, and while it's true the sherpa material isn't terribly soft, it is still warm.I read the reviews here, and decided to size down on this, so I ordered a large rather than an extra large. I usually wear a size 16, but also wanted to be able to put layers under this, so I was a bit apprehensive about sizing down. I have a Carhart jacket in size large that is a bit tight in the bust, so I wasn't sure about this.The size large fits perfect in the waist/hips (and I'm not hip heavy, but I do have a bigger waist), but it zips snuggly in the chest (in fact, it fits just like my Carhart jacket). So I decided to try the xl just in case. Way too big! That one had the wierd flaring effect in the hips/waist other people noted (simply because it was too big), though it did fit nicely in the bust. But it wouldn't do to keep the larger one, because the wind would have come right up through the bottom--seriously, I it was more than one hand-span of space there!I tried the large on again over a fairly heavy polar fleece jacket and I can zip up the vest just fine in the waist/hip, and CAN zip it in the bust, but it's a bit tight (imagine a really really supportive sports bra effect!) I decided that the large, even if it was tight in the bust if I had on a heavy layer underneath, was still a much better fit for me.So if you like Carhart products, and are looking for a tough, warm vest that also comes in nice colors, get this. The price is great! Just be aware that you might need to size down.

As many people have said, this vest runs large. I'm 5'8" and I wear a size 16 pant and L-XL tops, with a 38D bust size. I ordered an XL vest, and it is pretty big. I plan on wearing it over sweaters and hoodies, so big is ok. The vest isn't tight at all in the bust, and the bottom of it rests comfortably at my hips. I'm only giving this 4 stars because the photo is very deceiving. Many reviewers have said that their vest flares out dramatically at the hips. If my hips weren't so wide, I'm sure i would have the same complaint. This vest seems to be geared toward women with pear-shaped body types. If that's you, then great. If you are slender or have narrow hips, I'd recommend finding this vest in a farm supply or outdoor sporting goods store to try it on before ordering. I'm very happy with my vest, and I love that the pockets are fleece-lined. It's very well made, and I hope to get many years of use out of this vest.

I loved the color and really wanted this vest to work out, but as others have mentioned, it is a weird fit. My hips are not small, but the vest flares out over them. In addition, the 2 inside pockets are of no use, because when zipped, the vest totally smashed my.......chest. So it's small on top and large on bottom. Just for reference, I wear LOFT size 14 skinny jeans, and they are loose. My chest is a little large.On the up side - if this vest does fit you, it it is well made of sturdy materials and very warm due to the Sherpa lining. It would indeed be great for feeding livestock or doing chores where free movement of the arms is desired. Hope it works for others. - See the enclosed photo.

Absolutely LOVE, this is my 3rd Carhartt piece. I especially love that the pockets have the Sherpa lining & that the interior pockets fit my IPhone 6s Plus. I am 5â 2â bust 41, waist 37, hips 43 1/2 & the large fits great with room for me to wear with a hoodie

First of all, I was worried about ordering of this because of the reviews, but I think I have some tips to help everyone out with picking a size. The quality and the feel is fantastic. I can tell it will be very warm. Now for some tips on sizing, use your best judgment....I am a 34 DD, 5â3â and weigh 138lbs, I ordered a medium. Iâd say my hips are normal sized, so yes this flares out a tiny bit, but in my opinion I have absolutely no problem with this as I can easily wear a sweater underneath it! And it looks 100% good to me! Being larger chested I am finding that it fits my chest perfectly, I bet I could have fit into a small but I may have been restricted if I wanted to layer clothing.... (see picture) if you are smaller chested, a small would probably be perfect....! Otherwise.... just use your judgment.

Normalerweise habe ich GröÃe M/ L. Bei dieser Jacke habe ich mich für S entschieden, da mir M zu groà erschien. Bevorzuge speziell bei Kälte, dass die Weste anliegt.Ich trage darunter problemlos Unterhemd, Langarmshirt und Sweatjacke.Alternativ kann ich die Weste über einem Langarmshirt unter einem Mantel tragen, das war bei M nicht möglich.Hält bei sehr kalten Temperaturen super warm.Klare Kaufempfehlung in der Farbe Sandstone.

Loved this - fits bigger than expected, but that is a good thing. Usually a 4/6, and that is how the small is labeled. It's a nice relaxed fit slightly longer in the back. Some reviews said it was short and weirdly cut - I didn't think this was true at all. I have a long torso and am satisfied with the length - it hits me below the hips at the front. Love the fleecy inside and all the pockets. Great value.

Schöne und warme Weste. Sieht so aus wie beschrieben und abgebildet.Ich habe sie in L bestelle (1 GröÃe gröÃer) und sie fällt groÃzügig aus. Was aber für mich ok ist, da ich mal auch nen dickeren Pulli drunter ziehe. Volle Sternenzahl, da gewohne Carhartt-Qualität.

Iâd say get the size you usually are in clothes because I have the jacket itâs a bit bigger I was expecting this to be the same .. glad I didnât get the size smaller or it wouldnât have fit .. itâs definitely true to size. Maybe even size up if you like it quite baggy :)

What an awesome vest. Purchased one for my husband in the spring and my daughter-in-law kept borrowing it for hiking so got her one for Christmas so my husband could have his back! Highly recommend this product!

I love this vest!! I work on a farm so Carhartt is always my go to workwear. I find it hard to find womenâs stuff in my area so Iâm happy to have found it on amazon! The vest fits me perfectly and itâs a great item to layer on dad where itâs a little chilly. I am so happy I bought it. Definitely recommend to anyone who works outside.
