Great poncho. Better material that I thought it was going to be, lots of room to maneuver.
Lightweight, good budget option

It's breathable as a poncho and fairly easy to set up as a tarp if you know what you're doing. Mine comes in at 8.4 oz. Definitely a good choice for a budget rain gear/shelter combo.
Already paid for itself.

This is a great buy for anyone, especially those who go hiking, camping, roadtripping, etc. I bought this poncho thinking it would be a good backup during my travel adventures and, within a week of purchasing it, I rigged it as a cover for a small tent. I went camping in the desert (thus not planning on too much rain) and I was caught a little off guard by the 18 hours of almost steady rain during my trip. My tent was not the best for a rainy evening and I was able to use this poncho for a great rain cover for the tent (small 2 person tent). Turns out it was the most valuable equipment I had packed for the trip! I camp about once a month and this poncho is coming with me on every trip now. For the price, I highly recommend!
The umbrella vendors hate me now!

I was traveling internationally a week ago in Italy where deluges were expected and wanted to have something that packs smaller than a rain jacket.Unless you have complete confidence, it is totally goofy wearing it in the city and I was wearing it over some nice clothes. Then it started to rain. I was so happy at how well it kept me dry and warm when it was bombing down rain. This poncho will work well when I want it to cover a small backpack hiking this fall.

We got hit with a massive thunderstorm and these ponchos worked great in keeping us and our gear dry

My son and I used these on a recent backpacking trip in Virginia. We got hit with a massive thunderstorm and these ponchos worked great in keeping us and our gear dry. The rainproofing on my tent wasn't working so I used some cord to attach the poncho to the top of my tent as an additional rain fly. Versatile, useful, light weight, and packs down tiny. Great product. My only complaint is the flimsy Velcro attachment points. My opinion is that I'll end up replacing them sometime soon.
Eh. Might have some usage issues.

I havenât had it in the rain but I tested it under the faucet like I do all my rain gear. It is waterproof :) . Material seems sturdy and generous in size for 6â1â me and my backpack. The side closures are weird. Iâm not sure if I donât understand how they are supposed to be used or if it is a manufacturing or design mistake. There are two female snaps on one side of each side closure but only one male snap. Judging by the way it drapes on me, it would be better to have two closure points to most effectively keep out rain. There is a zipper and two buttons at the neck, something I didnât expect at this price. If I stopped here, Iâd probably rate the product 4.5 stars. However, the hood has issues. The thin plastic head visor (I want to say cheap) was all crumpled up. I tried putting it under books to straighten it but that didnât seem to help much. I have doubts about how effective it will be in keeping rain from dripping on my face. There are hood drawstrings on either side but they only adjust the sides and the hood is huge, even on my big head. I havenât found a way to adjust things where the visor and hood stays out of my eyes with any kind of active head movement. There is just too much excess material in the back of the head. The visor, while clear, isnât something you want to look through for long due to distortion. If I were sitting still watching a football game it might be OK. But Iâm not sure Iâm going be able to get it to stay out of my eyes while hiking.
A++

Amazing product company and customer service.I'm a bigger guy and both models fit me well. Both are incredibly premium ponchos. The bigger green poncho is by no mistake the upgrade of the two models. More lightweight and breathable, plastic stiff brim of hood, and zipper at neck. Not a fan of the color still but it's to protect you from the rain not walk down the runway. I would buy it again and recommend them.

I bought two of the less expensive models which were rip stop nylon (you can tell by the checkered pattern in the fabric). I liked them enough to buy one of the more expensive version with the neck closure. This more expensive version was NOT rip stop nylon, merely nylon taffeta. I don't understand why they would not be made of the same material. I'll keep it for light use, won't be as durable as the less expensive model though.

I used this poncho a couple of days ago while hiking up a mountain, heavy wind and rain started so it got well tested. Put Poncho on over my backpack and used velcro tabs, i held the sides in so wind wouldnt catch it. When rain stopped i removed it, gave it a couple of shakes and rolled it up and put it in my pack it more or less dry, wasn't worried about anything else getting damp. I finished the day nice and dry. When home i unrolled the poncho to get it dried off completely but no need as it was perfectly dry, folded it up and put it back in its bag ready for my next hike. I have tried others which have failed me badly, but this 1's a keeper for sure.

This a lightweight poncho of very good size, had Velcro fastening on the sides and can be opened out as a groundsheet and pegged down with the metal rings at each corner. The hood has a drawstring and a peak for those wet and windy days. A great product at a great price with a handy drawstring bag to keep it at hand without taking up loads of space when hiking/camping.

I used this twice. Very heavy tropical showers rather than sustained downpour. Both times my shoulders got wet, not just damp, but wet! Not as wet as I would have been without it but my friend who only wanted to spend a fiver got one that was basically a plastic sheet and she kept dry. I wanted the lightweight, more like a material type and got this one. Mistake!

I bought the yellow and the orange version of this, two slightly different models. I had a chance to test the yellow version by walking for over an hour through heavy rain. It seemed to do a reasonably good job of keeping me dry over the parts of my body which it covered, with just a slight damp spot down the back of my neck where some water appears to have got through the seam, but the rest of the area it covered was dry.The poncho doesn't cover the ends of your arms as it doesn't have sleeves, so the ends of my sleeves got a bit damp, you can minimise this problem by tucking your arms in however. One annoying thing about the yellow model is the plastic visor on the hood which just crumples and deforms and needs constant adjusting, and is a general nuisance. This is something which really needs a redesign. For this I am discounting one star.I bought an orange one also as it compacts smaller and can be fit in a backpack more easily. It seems to be slightly smaller than the yellow one, and made from a different fabric, it also lacks the zipper at the front, but it has a better design of visor on the hood. I haven't tested this as extensively, but it seems to be as waterproof as the yellow model.

I've had a roll up rain poncho before which was really useful. I wish I could fid it.This thing is safer thin . I fid the slightes breeze picks it up conveniently so that our back can get wet. There are rings at the corners supposedly to make a tent ! It can't happen with something this flimsyI can't even walk the dog in it never mind go up a mountain.Oh yes and its horribly noisy in the paper-thin-cheap-plastic- crinkly way ! MIlitary ? HIlarious concept.

This poncho was a life saver at Download this year!Hereâs enough room to wear a backpack under to shelter it from the rain and if your caught short you can squat and have a pee and no one would know what you were doing :PThe little bag can clip on your wrist belt which is handy. Well worth the money.

haven't had chance to test in rain yet, but can say that it fits over me quite well, im 6 ft and with a full 65L rucksack tent attached to bottom the poncho covers it all. However, it only has a few velcro joiners on the side, putting arms through it with rucksack makes it a bit tight and restricted, so im taking one star away for that issue, otherwise, good material, good size and very practical.

Tried it out at a festival where there was just light rain, it kept me largely dry but my head and neck area still got wet. My wife had the same problems with hers ( we bought 2) However, after being contacted by the seller they could not do enough to put it right for us, and ended up sending us out 2 superior raincoats as replacements. The one star is for the cape, but Iâd give the company five stars for customer service

Its probably one of the best protectors of rain i have come across. I am not trying to inflate how decent the product is but its pretty durable and easily covers your whole body. Not being funny but even in small it covers big people. If your worried about looking like a goddess or a model in the rain then get something see through but if you want something to protect you from like a 95% rainfall then this is for you. Its also got a few buttons down the side to make it more fitting and not leave you looking like a flag when being hit by the wind. Would have given it 5 stars if the aesthetic of it was just a bit more pleasing.

I recently bought this & recently used it in the rain. My rucksack is not waterproof so when I go to work I have to walk about 25-30 minutes from the train station; as I put my rucksack over my back I then put the poncho over to keep my rucksack dry. It basically does the job really well in keeping it & myself dry. And what's even better it is very light-weight even though it is very waterproof. The only advice I would give if it is very cold & raining at the same time put on a good waterproof winter jacket then put the poncho over for extra dryness. No complaints about this product; I highly recommend it.
