Stylish and waterproof and warm, oh my!

After about 20 hours of searching for the full on winter parka that still left me looking like a human female instead of a walking sleeping bag, I found this beauty. I live in the windy high desert abutting the High Sierra, temps hitting zero at times and freezing or below 180 days a year. I'm 5'8" 135 lbs., long arms, broad shoulders, slim torso, biggish butt, athletic. The medium is like it was made for my body. I can wear a shirt or very thin sweater underneath, which I prefer, as I HATE feeling restricted and this coat lets me move pretty freely while still being a slim fit. Wouldn't use it for skiing, but it's not made for that: great for hiking, playing in the snow with the young 'uns, outdoor events, etc.

THE BEST winter jacket EVER. It's long (to my knees) but there's a double zipper so you can still sit down and move your legs if you needed, the hood comes off, the pockets are fleece, there's an inside pocket, and its suuuuper warm. I don't usually make purchases this expensive but decided to invest in a good coat that will last a long time. This coat seems to be amazing quality and has all the features that I was looking for. Soooooo happy :)

If you want to be warm, and not just muscling through the cold, get this coat! I have had severe frostbite and hypothermia in the past and am very sensitive to the cold, this coat has kept me really warm. We're currently in a freeze (sub zero windchill) and I've been outside in this all day. I would have not known it wearing this coat. It is just that good!Update on January 7th 2018:I'm in Chicago and have been dealing with sub zero temps much like everyone else across the country... This coat is so warm and really has exceeded my highest hopes and expectations. Can't say enough good about it. Bonus that it's an attractive coat! Those features usually don't come together.

This jacket is so warm and the best. Literally if not as good than better than a Canada Goose jacket

The length of the coat touches the tips of my knees and I also have room for a bulky sweater or suite jacket. The sleeves are perfect ( a little bit below the wrist). BTW, If you're still not sure about size. The size measurement on North Face's website was spot on. Additionally, the image on this website can be a little misleading. The coat is light weight and not as bulky as the image on the site. I understand, it's a big purchase and I did a bit of research before purchasing the coat. So far I'm happy with my decision.

This is a really high quality coat! I love the color and especially the fit. Its pretty fitted, so i dont look as bulky in it as in other typical winter jackets. I got it in Medium and it is just right with a sweater on, for reference i m 36 D in the chest and its fits right On! Just be aware if you are slightly larger in cup or chest measurment it would be a bit tight. I knew that small would be too small and large too latge so I went with a Med and very happy with it. Love that you can detatch fur part from the hood also. Awesome quality fabric too! Its worth every penny! I m just so so so happy I Found it.

Love. SO WARM. Also longer than I expected. I am 5'4", and this comes just short of my knees which is perfect. I was considering getting a very long puffer coat for my walk to work, but my concern was that they usually aren't waterproof, and a coat is only warm until it is wet. This is the perfect solution, since it is waterproof and pretty long. Just grab a pair of snowboots to cover your legs and you're good to go in all but the most severe weather. I got Sorel Joan of Arctics to go with it, and I look pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Both are absolutely worth the money as an investment. Good quality lasts, so you won't be buying replacements every year.

I got this to help through the 3 or so days of actual winter in London, and to have something to wear when visiting family in Northern Europe. I can say that this coat is warm enough for -20C! I wore it in London when temperatures were nearing zero. Somehow it didn't feel too hot.The only annoyance was that after unpacking it, I got tiny feathers stuck on my clothes the first few wears. Maybe go through it with one of those sticky rollers before wearing to avoid this.Nice fit too. I'm 5ft 7in, medium built and it hits mid-thigh. The fit is flattering and non-bulky.

Keeps me really warm. When zip is done up fully, neck can be a little stiff but my other north face is like this and it does keep the cold out and the warmth in. Main plus point - this coat keeps me both warm and dry (tested in heavy rain - it passed!)

This coat is amazing along with the price from this seller. Dog walking I am no longer done up like a Michelin Man this coat over my long sleeve t shirt and a vest top and I was cozy and warm. No more freezing in the school playground waiting for grandkids, this coat is perfect

I needed a waterproof, very warm and long jacket for the winter changeable weather in Ireland. This jacket is just perfect. Fully waterproof, tested in Irish rain. Very warm, sometimes even too warm. Feels like you have a nice blanket wrapped around you all the time.It fits perfectly according to the measuring table provided.It's not a very elegant jacket by design, but the fact that it has some pull on the waist helps to make it a bit more feminine. Totally recommended.

As someone who is always cold and lives where always rains, I assure you this parka is the best. I tried other high-quality brands as well but, I like this parka because it covers the hips and legs very well. Also, it is not very heavy to carry around.

Not true to size. Medium ordered, would only just zip up (usual size 12) Far too fitted to be comfortable. Sleeves too long. Colour darker than anticipated. However, l liked the hood and pockets and length. Fabric quality good.

This coat is really warm and waterproof , it fits well. I ordered a size 8 and can get a jumper underneath easily. It was well Packaged and arrived in excellent condition with tags. I have purchased North Face coats in the past and they last for many years, I have two that are 10 years old and still look like new. Well worth paying the extra for a good quality coat.

Love it!!! This coat is so warm - it's like wearing a duvet. I'm asthmatic and struggle in the cold winters. Not any more. Although this coat is expensive it's an investment piece which, I hope, will last many years.

I was looking for a longer length stylish parka jacket to wear on the 10 minute walk dropping my kids off at school that was both insulated and fully waterproof and this fits the bill. Most jackets are insulated OR waterproof â not both, too short or too long in length â or just do not look good.Iâm 5â8â and 11st and a size 12 top 14 bottom and I got the medium. The large on me was far too big. With a standard jumper underneath, it sits nicely around my waist and falls to just above my knee.My first comment is about the style. Most of the other parka jackets I was considering have two large square front pockets. I didnât want this look â I wanted something more sleek and this jacket has two zipped pockets in the side seams. Itâs definitely a sophisticated rather than a utilitarian look. There is also an additional small pocket inside. If you a looking for a hillwalking jacket and need large pockets for maps/compasses etc, this may not suit your requirements. Itâs fairly slim for an insulated jacket and doesnât look like you are wearing a duvet!Itâs warm and cosy. None of the feathers have escaped so far. The faux fur around the hood is very soft â not at all itchy like others I have tried.Two small quibbles. The sleeves are just a tiny bit short. If you forgot your gloves one day it would be difficult to hide your hands inside the end of the sleeves. I also think the hood is a tiny bit small. Other hoods I tried on came right over my forehead. This just frames your face so depending how you tighten it (there is a toggle adjuster) you might need something to cover your ears on really cold/windy days.It was a great price from Amazon with a third of the RRP and arrived earlier than expected. North Face is a reputable brand and I look forward to it lasting many years. An investment piece.

This coat is absolutely worth the money, the picture does not do it justice though!!! I do not normally write reviews, but this coat really is amazing, itâs not a heavy coat but keeps you so warm. I live right by the coast so can be extremely wet and windy, but is completely weatherproof as stated.

Good jacket , run a little small not the most stylish but definitely warm and good quality, although it loses some feathers. I expected something great.
