Poor quality product. Do not purchase coat!

The box arrive crushed and ripped open. Inside the box, the coat was crush, wrinkled and the hanger was even broken. The quality of the coat was that of an overall inferior product. It was thin and quite shabby. The appearance was lackluster. It shouldn’t even get one star.

This really is an awful coat. Fits much larger than expected and looks like a cheap bath robe.Fabric quality also sub-par.Would not recommend

The red color is rich and beautiful, but Bad quality, although the label shows 80% wool, very thin, I mean how and where would you wear it? I live in NY State, even for spring or fall, it's too thin to keep me warm. I grew up in Taiwan, a warm Asia sea island, when we celebrate the Chinese new year, we wear RED. but I have to say, even for the hot warm southeast weather, this coat is still too thin.Runs large, I already ordered the size small, still like swim in it. Have to send it back.

Timeless design

I have seen other reviewers comment that this coat runs small through the bust. I did not find that to be the case. I ordered it in a large, and immediately sent it back and reordered the medium. I am 5'5" at 150lbs and busty, and the medium is a perfect fit. It does wrap you like a bathrobe but that is all the style now. The red color is bright but not garish. It is not particularly heavy but will be plenty warm worn over normal winter clothing. Love the coat and may order it again some day in a different color. I do agree with one reviewer that it could be packaged slightly neater- it arrived crumpled in the bottom of a large bag. It is still slightly wrinkled and I may actually have to steam it before I wear it.

Design is poor, especially the collar area

I read all reviews, hoping this coat would work for me in California. I even tried my husband's long bathrobe before ordering. The coat came all wrinkled badly. Unlike soft bathrobe, the coat is stiff. Material is OK. Design is poor, especially the collar area. Returning.

Love this coat, not the color

Like many of us in cold winter climates, we have coats ... plural. A coat for this, a coat for that. Looking deep into my coat closet this year, I realized that I really did not have a coat appropriate for all work situations but instead have several coats for work ... a beautiful princess-seamed walker that's too tight to wear with suits, a sized-up walker that's fine with suits but not in regular clothing, no coat for when I wear long sweaters or dusters, and so on. Why can't I have just one coat for work & professional dress ?I live in a winter climate but frankly I don't need a heavy coat to go from my car into buildings, or between buildings, even if the walk is 2-4 blocks. I also don't want to lug around a big coat in airports or in the city either. Sure, if I was a commuter and stood outside waiting for a bus, or if the average winter temperature was less then 20 degrees, then of course I would be looking for something else than an all-around lighter coat. But as it is, I dress in layers in every season and frankly don't want a heavy winter that I only use 2 months of the year.I had my heart set on getting a light wool coat with a water-fall or fly-away color. After searching high and low and coming up short at the price point I wanted, I decided to give this shawl wrap a try. For me, the coat is pretty darn close to perfect, and here's why: The wrap style and dolman type sleeves will accommodate all kinds & styles of clothing, from short dresses to suits to bulky sweaters to chiffon tops. It's light enough that it can be worn in buildings, airports, malls, etc without breaking a sweat but warm enough to give me just the boost needed to ward off the chill. Short of the coldest days of winter, I can make this coat work, and it will carry me from October to March. :)The shawl color is well-designed, and it comes high around my neck, making a scarf almost unnecessary. The sleeves come to my wrist joint yet still seems generous enough for my frame.A couple words of warning -** Sizing from Nordies: XS=0, S=2-4, M=6-8, L=10-12, XL=14, and they say order down if between sizes. I concur. I'm an 8/10 and ordered both medium & large. Both sizes were a bit restrictive in the shoulders so it's the design of the coat itself, not the size. The large did seem "bathrobe" like and was definitely not the coat for me. I preferred the excess material for wrapping in the large, but the top half of the coat ended being too large for my scale. So, order down.** The coat's waist is almost empire like. It ties high, toward the lower end of my ribs and I'm short waisted! You can see this on the model ... note where her elbow crease is and where the belt is tied. When I realized that this was where the coat should be tied and stopped fighting it & trying to fit it lower, the coat suddenly looked elegant and high end.** The coat is long on me. I'm 5'5" and the coat is about 3" below my knee, which makes sense if you figure the model is probably 5'9" or 5'10". I might get it taken up ... we'll see.** The red does not read as red-blue in person as it does on my screen. I'd call it a true red,and one which tends toward pink & orange (think pink & orange in sunsets). The color is far too warm for me, so the coat is not a keeper. However, I ordered the gray instead, in spite of not wanting to be one of "those people" who wear gray & black in winter. I want color!** It is not shipped well and will come as a huge, wrinkled mess. Amazon really needs to take a cue from other stores like Lands End, JCP or Pendleton when shipping coats & jackets: Ship them in a flat box meant for coats, not one better suited to books & coffee makers. Basically, you will need to steam out the wrinkles, unless you are brave with an iron.Would love to see this coat sold here in other colors, like a dark muted teal, a mid-to-dark greige (taupe-gray), and indigo or ink (purple-black or blue-black). I'd probably buy one of each in a more contemporary take on classic colors. But for now, I'm content to have one winter coat that will work for me all season long ... in gray.
