Neither silk nor hand painted but exorbitant price.

Not hand painted and not 100% silk. It's a blend. Amazon should verify this item and seller. This robe is too expensive for what it is. It is Either polyesters or satin. A complete rip off.

Luxurious Kimono

Beautiful Silk Crane Kimono! I love the pretty graphics with vibrant colors and luxurious feel! I expected the kimono to be very long since I'm 5'2 but was perfectly level with my feet.

Well Over-priced

For the cost, I was surprised how little fabric is allocated to the making of this kimono. The sleeves are very short as well in comparison to what the online photos indicate. The silk is quite thin. Compared to what I had purchased 3 decades ago in Japan as a "tourist" kimono that was double-fabric and reversible, I find this product flimsy for the price and would not recommend it. You might as well buy the polyester one for one-third the cost.

Great value, worth every penny

This is a beautiful robe and the silkiest real silk. What I love about natural silk fiber is that it keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This feels so nice against my skin and the color is very rich. One thing to be careful of, is the silk belt comes in a tiny pouch attached to the neck line of the robe. You want to be sure to cut the plastic thread attatching it so you do not rip the beck seam. I saw some posts where people may have damaged the neck by just trying to pull the bag off. This robe is twice as expensive as their polyester satin version but a great value and real silk is worth every penny. It says it is hand washable and to flat dry or to dry clean. I haven't tried yet so may update on how that goes once I need to wash.

Sized for Asians

Its a beautiful robe, albeit it very light weight (could be a bathing suit cover up). My only nit, and its a big one, is that the belt loops, and the inside ties are set way too high for an average height woman, which means not being able to have belt loops, which means having your belt fall down everytime yoy untie it. It's here so I will make new belt loops and ties myself (but I shoukdn't need to!)

very nice for someone without curves and who wears small size clothing

Very nice vivid colors and brush-work, just as advertised! However, there is a bit of size issue because inner and outer ties are way too high which I think was due to this robe being made for smaller/shorter woman (I am 5'9"/150 lbs). If you've got curves you may find it difficult to keep it close in the front. It is really modeled for small bone women. I love it otherwise - will have to redo ties myself, that's all.

Robe does not stay closed when walking and sitting :-(

The garment itself is beautiful and feels good on my skin. The big problem - the robe easily opens when I walk and also when I sit down. I'm a size 8 with a small/medium chest. The robe covers me fine if I'm standing, but when I walk, the garment opens up as if it was designed to have a long slit to reveal my legs. There is an inner tie that helps to keep one part of the robe close to my body, but the outer one is only held secure by the belt. Because the whole garment is silk (and therefore slippery), and because there is no anchor /tie other than the belt to hold the outer flap closed and secure to the left side of my body, the edge of the outer flap ends up continuously slipping so that the outer flap lands on the center of my body. This means there's minimal overlap from the inner and outer layers of the robe, and hence I've got a robe that exposes my legs (and me to the cold). I'm really disappointed.

Lovely. Not for tall people. Needs another side-tie.

It only ties on the right side, so the left falls apart while the belt does it's best to hold it in place. I'm 5'11" and it isn't really made for tall people like me. I'm keeping it though. It will be lovely for summertime. Gorgeous artwork on it. It's definitely silk and will need to be dry cleaned. Besides the need for another tie on the left and the fact it's not long (these are sized for Asian standards, which is very lean and very short)... Otherwise I love it. Keeping it in spite of the minor issues I have with it.
